Default Can a LSD be added to my truck??

When I was at the dealership today having my new rims installed I asked about adding a Suregrip unit to my rear diff?
I wanted a 09 Sport for the incentives they were offering on them and had to buy what the dealers had on the lot, as the supply of them was getting SHORT!!!
I bought mine Sept 30And have been EXTREMELY happy with it!!

BUT, I had to make do with a couple things I would have ordered differently, such as gears and LSD. Mine came with 3:55 OPEN

So I wanted to add the suregrip to my rear but the dealership tells me I CAN'T because the truck has Stability Control and it won't work any more if I have it installed? This sounds insane to me??
Help? Advice?

Everytiime I see a 09 Ram with a Rambox I wish I ordered it, but saving 12K off the sticker was just too good to pass up.........

There is no reason why you could not get the Dodge LSD. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

The Dealer said their Suregrip wouldn't work?? I wasn't inquiring about aftermarket, I asked the dealer flat out , how much to put a LSD in my truck? I really wasn't concerned about the cost, just getting OE parts and not screwing up my warranty.
They said I can't? Just doesn't make sense to me?

Dodge service departments are the least educated of the domestics...

I say that having been told that the 1989 caprice was not built with a 350 and so I could not buy a new radiator for my 350 factory equipped caprice. Hell that chevy parts guy even told me I was reading my vin number wrong because the engine code was not what he expected.

Again... dodge guys are way worse than that.

3.92 gears with LSD are a factory option on 2009 and 2010 Ram 1500's with Hemi's. You have the Corporate 9.25 axle and my experience is to find the best rear end man within 100 miles have it done right...the first time...one time.

Some dealerships are good some maybe not.

Save yourself some cash and get a better aftermarket unit. A lot of people have added/swapped out the factory unit for an Auburn Pro LSD. I've heard nothing but good things about that unit.

The stealership are idiots. When I was looking to get a color matched TRX grille for my Sport, I had one local dealership swear up and down that the grille didn't come in Brilliant Silver at all. Of course they changed their story when I pointed out a silver TRX4 on their lot.

With the traction control, how bad is wheel spin with the open differential?

I can't get mine to spin either back wheels in the rain when in 2WD, I have the 355 open. However, I have the Nitto NT420S on 22" SRT rims, maybe that's the reason. I had the wheels swapped before I took delivery so I did not get a chance to see what the stock Goodyears would do.

I had the Goodyears on my 2008 Ram with 392 lsd (before I switched to Nitto) and I could easily spin the back wheels wet or dry.

It's very rare if mine spin and I'm not intentionally doing it. There are times they'll (hense both) break loose but not often. I've found that the "electronic" locker in the open diff works well. It does allow more wheel spin than an LSD but it's effective. It kicks in well before ESP does so it's fairly quick.

Would I like to upgrade it? Yes

Do I plan on spending $800-$1000 to do it? Not at this time, to many more important priorities.
