Default Hitch Mounted Parking Sensor

Hello All

Been using an aftermarket hitch mounted parking sensor and it works great, I've had it now about 6 months and I felt it was worth sharing.

The sensor goes directly into your hitch and hitch wiring. The sensor sends an audible signal to a small wireless speaker that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I like it so much, I bought a 2nd unit for the wife's truck

Hope this helps!

Did you guys get it from etrailer b/c I've read a lot of mixed reviews on their service and about people having issues w/ them? I need to get one for my Dad and that's the best price and easiest to install, so that's the one I've been looking at.

I've bought trailer lights and hub parts from them, no issues with my orders.

Cool, let us know how you like it when it arrives. This really is one of the best deals you can get on one, they sell them under many different names for as much as $200. I just saw a lot of mixed ratings for etrailer on resellerrating and it had me worried.

Default Am I missing something??

I installed the hitch mounted sensor today, put the wireless thingy in the lighter receptacle, it beeped once when I started it up, but no beeps when backing up or any other time I had it in reverse.. I used the 7 pt trailer socket, do I need to hardwire that square speaker somewhere in the truck, or can I put a 2 prong plug on it and stick it in the 12v outlet and hit the outlet power button?? Is there an on/off switch on the hitch sensor itself??

thanks,

Dave
