Considering upgrade to 4th Gen
I was considering upgrading from my 2008 (lease coming to an end soon) to a 2010 CC Laramie. I would like to purchase this time instead of leasing again. Should I expect any improvement in fuel economy over my 2008 Hemi 4X4 MDS with 3.92 axle? I am thinking about ordering the Laramie in Austin Tan and I really like the lighter interior. Any problems with the lighter interior vs. the dark leather? Thanks in advance.

there shouldn't be that much a difference in weight.. the extra 4-6 inches of cab is really just air.. there is no new material...
but youll prolly lose gas in the beginning because youll love it and will want to use those 390 horses and rear springs...
i wasted a lot of gas since i put my borla on... i just rev it now to **** my wife off lol...

i am not sure about the gas milage as i came from a 99 reg cab 360 with 22's that got about 9 mpg. i have austin tan with the light interior and i have not had any problems at all. jan 15th made 1 year since i got it and i always wear jeans and have no transfer marks or darkening like i have read others having. the word ram on the drivers floor mat isnt quite as bright as it was but it doesnt bother me because it is a floormat lol. i have heard if i get it shampooed it will be good as new just havent got around to it. one more thing- go for the crew cab! you wont regret it. the bed is only like 5' 7" in think but i have carried sheets of drywall with the tailgate up with plenty of room to spare. my daughter loves the leg room she has too even though she is only 6 lol
My .02 - stay with 3.92. You'll appreciate it off the line and it goes into mds mode on the highways anyway. I only looked at trucks with the hemi and 3.92 ls ( anti spin as Chrysler calls it ), and crawled under the truck to look at the axle tag to be sure. 4.10 would have been a great find ! Regearing is just way too expensive on a 4x4 not to do it right from the start, unless you are putting 35-37" tires and are going with 4.56 or 4.88's anyway...

If you are really really worried about mileage then get the 321's but I have 355's and well I am not impressed off the hole but after that I kinda like them they seem to respond well at certain rev's a 392 takes off from you at first but I think a 355 would catch it..not sure.
There are leaps and bounds of difference between the 3.55 and 3.92. My father and I had identical 06 Ram's with hemi's. The exception was that I had a 3.92, a little bit bigger tires and a tonneau cover. I beat him by 2-3 truck lengths everytime we raced, even with larger tires. My truck was a lot more peppy on the bottom end. He got about 1.5 MPG better than me on the E-way, but I averaged about 2 MPG better than him in the city...
