Default Question on 4th Gen SPORT models

Hi, I have been lurking on this board trying to gather some information (THANK YOU BTW). I'm looking to buy a 1500 qc 4x4 sport later this year, spring/summer.

Anyway, I had a question to the Sport Trim owners. I have seen several photos of the 09/10 sports trims, some have the bright grille, others have the body color grille. Is that a manufacture option or what? I can't find it anywhere on-line. Hoping someone can help.

Also, I have test driven some 1500's already. How is living with a QC and a family? Do some of you regret not getting the CC? Or is the QC have enough room for 2/3 people in the back for a long drive.

Take note I am not a tall person and typically pull the driver's seat closer to the wheel then most giving a few more inches of leg room in the back. My wife is my height too and would be fine pulling the passenger side up a little for our kids or friends, etc. I like the idea of having a bigger bed to be honest and of course save 2-3k on the QC. Thanks!

I sat in the back of a QC before I settled on buying a CC. Personally, I would not want to sit in the back of a QC for anything more than a ride across town.

As for grilles, some people have posted that '10 Sports have it one way, others that it's the other way. Some have posted that the dealer has no control over it when they order the truck. BUT, I have seen at least one poster say that their dealer told them it came one way by default, but they had the option to order it the other way, if they wanted. I don't remember whether chrome or painted was the default. Regardless, I think if you order a '10 Sport, you should be able to get whichever grille you want. You just have to be specific with the dealer - and don't take any BS from a dealer if you want color-matched and they tell you it can only be ordered with chrome, or vice versa.

the quad cabs are the size of most other manuf. crew cabs i believe.

the only time a quad sucks. is if your tall and have baby seats in the back. but for a little older kids etc. it is great. its not as small as the extended cab trucks of the other manuf...

not true. If you have kids then I would get the crew cab. The quad cab is ok but like it has been said, the back seat in the quad cab is not as comfortable as the rear seat in the crew, but it is your choice.

I have a QC Sport and it fits my family of five just fine. No complaints other than "where is the DVD like in momma's van?"

I'm 6'1 tall and drive with the seat all the way back. A children's car seat will not fit without having to move my seat forward.

Wish I got the CC

My brother in law has a QC and I have the CC. The QC will be fine shoulder width wise for 3, but leg room will be a little tight. In the CC no problem, I have three kids and they have more then enough room. I'm 6' tall and drive with my seat real comfortable and I can sit behind the drivers seat with room to spare.

I looked at the qc also, and I settled on the cc. Yea it may be a little more, but I have never heard of anyone complain that there is too much room in the cc. I love the cc, I took mine deer hunting and we got 5 full size adults in my truck and we all had plenty of room. I don't think it would of been that way with a qc.

I have a quad cab and to be honest i wish i had chosen the crew, i wanted the extra box lenth but for long trips etc 10 hr road trips and being in the back of a quad cab makes for and uncomfortable trip IMO

Seems the ones with factory painted grills live in Canada.
