The Sport and Laramie interiors have minimal hard plastics compared to the F150's. Ram's padded door skins and padded/stitched dash that combined with the console shift gives the F150 good competition for interiors. ( the integration with MS SYNC as well as their nav system is nice though ) Back in 04, I chose the F150 over the Dodge because of the interior. Not the case for 09. Plus, if you get the hemi and 3.92 gears, the F150 just does not cut it.

I'll take another look at Ford when the 6.2L gets all the TSB's worked out and is available on the FX4. This months Truckin mag has a small writeup on that motor, 411hp... It's about time they get a decent power option as long as they offer it without the SVT premium pricing..

For 09 and now 2010, my vote stays with the Ram. I do not tow, it is my daily driver, and this truck drives like a car. That video here was rather interesting if it was not rigged, having owned a few 5.4L, they have no midrange power at all - a good tuner will certainly help though - so that is certainly believable for acceleration and maintaining speed on a grade.
As far as MS Sync on the Ford, the Dodge has an optional Nav with Uconnect that has VR Voice Recognition, which allows you to do most of the things the ford does just not from the steering wheel, at least I havent tried the steering radio controls for the VR or UConnect. You can play music, call people..bluetooth same as the ford, you can load music on the hard drive and call it up using the VR button. You can also do this with the lower grade radios that don't even have a touch screen as long as they have the uconnect module.

I have the ST Q/C hemi 4X4, and by the looks of it, it is very well loaded. Only thing I don't have that I am a little disapointed with is the evic with mpg reading. Other than that I didn't want a center console, it looks real nice, but I sometimes have a full cab of people, so that wouldn't work. When I am inside this truck, I feel good, you know what I mean? I feel really good, confident of every movement the truck makes, there is no second guessing, when i press the peddle to accelerate it does just that, I love my truck and wouldn't change it for anything else, maybe change the colour but I am on eof those that really don't care about looks......I need confort.

I'd be more interested in seeing what happens when they are not towing over the rated tow limits. MY comparisons are based on pulling a 3500lb boat and a 5K loaded car trailer. My F150 was rated to tow over 11,000 lbs with street gears and would. My Ram is rated to tow 6000 lbs, and there is no way in hell it would tow 15,000 lbs up a hill (with 3.21 gears).

Granted my F150 was an 02 - so maybe things have changed (although it's the same motor)
This contest I believe was not to pull 15000 lbs it was a combined Truck and Trailer weight of 15000 or close to that so maybe each truck is pulling 10000 lbs roughly guessing the trucks weigh 5000lbs at least. From the response of the Dodge I bet it had the 392 gears for sure, not sure what the Ford gears are for the half ton. I towed with an 03 Durango that was only 250 HP but way more torque, a trailer that was easy 2000lbs and a 4600lb pickup on it, flew on the freeway 65 to 75 and there were some slight grades, never went over 3500 RPMs well unless WOT to pass someone. So I believe if that SUV can pull I am gonna guess this pickup is under rated on purpose so people don't over use them and warranty claims stay down. Who is gonna have a trailer on the back on their truck when they call Dodge to pick it up if the tranny let go. I think I would not mention towing anything. Just get someone to come get the trailer and then call Dodge to come get the truck or I bet even if the trailer is within their ratings they will not warranty you. Ask a Service Manager their protocols on trucks that have a drive train break down while towing.
