Default remote windows!

Because our remote controls can roll down our front windows on the gen 4 trucks it is causing a bit of a headache for me. Today when I go out to my truck I find my 2 front windows rolled all the way down. I am in Toronto where it is -5C outside. I was not impressed. Normally to get this feature to work you press the unlock button once then press it again, this time holding the unlock button down untill the windows are down. There is no way you can accidently push this sequence. I think this a problem with the remote or the receiver as I also have problems with the remote not always working to unlock the doors.I know this is a common problem. I took my truck to the dealer today and spoke to the service manager. He had no idea that our remote could roll the windows down. Has anyone else had this problem and had it fixed? The dealer did not have a mechanic in today that was qualified to look at an electrical problem like this. I will be taking it back soon to have it looked at. If it was pouring rain outside and your windows just decided to roll down the truck could be flooded. Any thoughts on this?

I think it'd be less of an electrical problem, and more of a transmitter/key fob issue. Of course it's probably the same guy at your dealer that works with either. Perhaps there's something in that area (radio equipment, flightline equipment) which is outputting the same signal as your fob. I'm not sure if the frequencies on the RAM are adjustable at all, but it'd be worth a shot.

Were the doors unlocked when you found the windows down? More likely what happened is that you put the fob in your pocket and leaned on the buttons. Happens all the time to me with both cars we have. Usually only notice when I set the alarm off

Yes, common issue with these trucks on the forums, no fix. You have to prove it to dodge that it did it on it's own and not cause you accidently pushed the button, so no issue or fix.

I have not heard of the rolling down windows being a "common" problem. We have had it where the FOB would stop working all together, which is VERY different.

Are you pressing it twice to unlock all doors? If so let me recommend changing the setup in the EVIC to unlock all doors with the first push, then you do not have to double push ever. Any if you are not unlocking all doors with double push then this does not help at all

I too had this happen to me I must have puhed it somehow when it was in my pocket went out it was snowing with the windows down.I also sometimes lean against the kitcken counter and my truck will start in the garage, but when I want it to start with the remote thats kind of hit and miss.I started keeping the keys out of my pants pocket.

I still don't see how you can accidently push this sequence. You would have to accidently push the unlock button once then push it again this time holding it down for a few seconds or the windows would only be part way down.I wonder if the dealer can disable this feature? I might change the unlock to one push all doors.

2 relays... one in each door fixes it (power when key on is in the door already). I had mine down in a pouring rain storm, POS in my opinion. Who would want to open the windows remotely - the AC runs with remote start.

Pretty common feature on nicer cars - my dads Lexus has it and so does my moms Audi. When it's really hot out it's nice to be able to roll the windows down all at once as you come up to the truck.
