Default Broken Side Mirror

The streets here are tight with 3 ft of snow on the ground. I met a power company truck that was a dually with the extra wide mirrors. I stopped and tried to get over as far as possible but he clipped me. He folded my mirror and the force cracked the glass. No other damage was done except he left a black mark on the white painted portion on the mirror. I buffed it out. Now I need to replace the mirror. I am guessing my insurance won't cover it. I am hoping it will cost less than my deductible ($100). I want to replace it with the same glass that has the heated mirror symbol on it. My guess is all you have to do is scrape off the old mirror and glue the new one on. Does anyone have experience with this and where to buy the new mirror? I guess I could always go to the dealer but if I can save some money it would be nice. Any help?

I just need the glass. The glass does not have the turn signal in it. I am guessing the heating element is what the glass sticks on. The side mirror itself is perfectly fine.

No gluing is required. Unsnap the mirror from the top and it will pull up out of slots from the bottom. Should be an easy replacement. Try one of the online parts sites and you may get it cheaper.

I managed to crack the housing on mine this weekend. Will be looking for a full replacement driver's side mirror. Will check back after I replace mine to see if you still need your replacement glass - will be willing to send it your way for the price of shipping.

I don't see how the glass unsnaps out of the holder. The pieces that fell off look like there is glue behind the mirror.

If it's like most mirrors, the piece that it was glued to is what snaps out.

Looks like it's $34 for just the replacement mirror (Part #3)

I had my glass on a Durango cuz I used a razor blade and windex to get some overspray off the windshield and it worked good so I did the mirror and it scratched the mirror. I took it to a local glass shop that does windshields also and they cut me a new piece of mirror but it no long said heated mirror or the wavy lines but it worked that is what mattered to me and I believe it was like 75 bucks, hardest part was getting the old glue of the part they needed to glue to the mirror. I would just find one of them Ebay mirror..2 for 75 bucks! They look smaller than the ones i have and mine fold in, I must have the trailer tow ones but the don't adjust they do just fold in as I said. You should take the mirror in to the utility company or whatever it was that hit you since you stopped, he hit you. They might just pay if it's not outrageous. You could tell them that you may go thru insurance that would definately cause and investigation and paperwork for them.

The cops came and wrote up an accident report but said it wasn't anyone's fault. Plus, it was under $1500 damage so he said the insurance companies wouldn't do anything. I am stuck. That part #3 looks about right. I am going to see what the dealer says.
