The beauty is, you don't have to upgrade. The base product now has full and correctly done TCM support. This program has additional functions to control everything from your entire part throttle shift schedule to your entire TM settings. Basically, custom tuning for your transmission. With other products you can have these changes done through a cmr, but that will usually cost you and much more. The program is not for everyone. There's a learning curve using this program. It's not as easy as just a quick tune or setting your WOT shifts in advance options. Much more associated with this program.

If you don't upgrade to this, you will still have a heck of a product.

I could tell that much with looking at the graphs. I am still going to upgrade it (why not, its free) but i am going to stick with the superchips TM because I have already loaded it and it was a huge difference in performance. The main thing i noticed was going into second. It use to kinda jump hard into second but after i updated it today it is a very smooth transition and still keeps the power coming

im not saying i wont ever mess with the custom trans tuning, but it seems to be a lot of time and effort to make it run perfect.....

where the TM upgrade alone sounds pretty good

I loaded it from the computer then went out to my truck and installed it. I had the truck tuned already and it worked just fine

Yep. They made an adjustment to the database that was found during beta testing.

I would try to learn the program, if I were you. There so much there. If you took a ride in my 2008, you would be amazed. My shifts happen when I want them to. My downshifts happen instantly. Basically, it's like driving a manual transmission. It shifts where you want. When it comes out and if you need help, let me know. There are already 2009 shift schedules on the server. That gives you an advantage and starting point the betas never had.

Yes there is a learning curve, but it's nothing you can't become familiar with if you spend some time with it.

Let me see if I can clarify this a little better.

There are two updates. One is free. If you update to that right now, you'll see a shift schedule and torque management selection in your options menu.

What will be missing is a USER selection in both free options.

What you can do now with the new free option is go back and forth from Superchips and Stock for your Superchips Shift Schedule (already there when you tune now) and your Torque Management settings. Example: Say you want to run the Stock Schedule, with Stock TM and Superchips tuning, you can now do that with this free option. You could run a combination of both if you like. That's the new free option.

Now, the USER option (when coupon is released and you can upgrade to it) will give you a USER setting. Now you'll be able to change everything in your Shift Schedule and Torque Management. Tweak it anyway you like. You have above features, plus more. Full control. This is the paid upgrade option (free for three days).

Hope this helps.

Thanks. That makes sense. That was a question I was eventually going to ask. But, I was orginally referring to the questin that was asked if we could update with the tune already programed in the truck, or return to stock, upgrade, and then put the sc tune back on. Thanks.

If you upgrade to the option that requires the coupon, you must be tuned (VIN locked).

The free option, you can upgrade locked or unlocked. If you want the changes of the new database to take, you'll re-tune your truck.

ok, I'm being dense here. For those of us running the 93 performance tune now, we have the superchips shift schedule and the superchips TM setting Correct ? All this new option would give us is the ability to turn either or both off ( back to stock settings ). We still cannot set TM levels to this 8% level yet. Correct ?
