Default Tailgate recall...?

The Dodge dealer told me there is a tailgate recall and they want to replace a piece of the tailgate on my 2009 Ram. I'm not sure which piece they want to replace. I had my tailgate sprayed with Line-X Bedliner, they aren't going to replace something that is currently sprayed with Line-X, are they?

The "ole" tailgate recall is for the plastic trim that sits on the top/spolier. It comes loose on many of our trucks.
But if there's a new recall - haven't a clue.

depends on when your truck was made. that RRT just came out thursday. i took my truck in friday to try to get some stuff done and it came up with the RRT. the tailgate isnt so much the issue, its the spoiler. there is an issue with the length of the overlap with the spoiler and the plastic liner on the inside of the tailgate. apparently with taking stuff in and out of the bed and catching the spoiler, it can loosen it up enough to one day going down the road and having it fly off. if it is one of the ones being recalled, they will simply replace the spoiler.

Yes, this is a RRT, not a recall. Big difference.

The dealer decided not to put the new spoiler on because of the Line-X. They said it was in their instructions not to disturb if the tailgate is coated with any spray in bedliner.

Mine was not even loose I tried to take it off, real hard, but they changed it because whenI went in the tailgate to install my power lock, there were plastic pieces in the bottom of the tailgate, ridiculous waste of money they could have just shot some adhesive under in on the inside and it would be fine. They are glue parts on vehicles now...some wild and crazy adhesives out there.
