He told you which vehicles had factory HID - the conclusion that anyone would draw is that you could order the parts for the factory system on one of those vehicles and modify it to install it on your Ram.

Or there is some goofball selling a kit for $60 that may or may not work, may or may not mess up your FM reception and may or may not flicker like a candle.

Well excuse me! I also wasn't aware you could retrofit a factory HID system to our trucks. Otherwise I think it would have already been done. Thats why there are so many $60 kits out there that may or may not work. Do your homework and some of the aftermarket kits actually do work!
So why post something that had nothing to do with the thread unless he knew something no one else did? Or at least I didn't know of. I was just asking for him to share the info.
If someone has done a retrofit with factory parts I would like to know what part numbers he used.
Sorry I didn't come to the same conclusion as you did.

I looked online and it seems that most kits come with the cancelers and balasts. I just want to make sure that I get the most for my money. I really don't want to deal with the wiring issues or splicing things. I just want to be able to plug and play. Also did you do anything with your fog lights?
Thanks! Originally I used a cheap generic ebay kit with cancelers, didn't have a problem since day one. When I sold my car I swapped the ballasts because I had DDM digital Slim ballasts in the car which I think are a better product, again no problems for a year now. It was complete plug and play, I found the polarity was backwards but that was simple - swap the plug going into the ballast 180*, doesn't quite lock right but it hasn't come out yet!

Thanks cpelton. If it is ok, could you let me know the make of your HIDs or is the make DDM? Another question is, is i have the quad lights and am only going to do my low beams, and fog lights, do I need the cancelers, or can I order a kit with just the ballasts and be fine? Like I said, I just want to get the best thing for my money and not have to do any splicing or rewiring.

Awesome link!
Some cars will generate a bulb out warning message or even turn the headlight/foglights off when connecting HID to them. Our cancellation modules fool the computer in the car and allow the HIDs to work flawlessly.
These work on 93% of vehicles with computer related issues.
NOTE: Certain vehicles will require these to run HID's properly. ex. Dodges (except Ram)
Warning: Some vehicles may have reverse polarity causing an explosion. We recommend wearing safety glasses and closing your hood before testing the BOW on your vehicle.

Best warning ever. How about they list a procedure to determine the polarity rather than using an explosion as the indicator?

im pretty sure when they say EXCEPT RAM it is previous model years, you will need them for the 09's. You can also go with generic ebay brand they work fine as well. Its a capacitor, they will blow up if hooked up wrong as with ANY capacitor. At least they are warning you.

ebay cancellers

Thanks again cpelton. I looked at those, and they seem pretty reasonable in price. And as long as they are just a plug in go style that is good. I think I might look into getting those. Where they tough at all to install, or was it pretty simple. Thanks again for the help, if you don't mind if I do get them and have any questions i may just pm you if ok. Thanks again.

ya for sure, they are completely plug and play. You will need a 1" bit or a unibit to drill a hole for the wires in your light housing. A grommet is supplied to fill the hole. Hardest part of the install is removing the lights.
