Default Bed on Crooked???? New Truck

Hey Guys,

So I had a regular cab F-150 sport and found out that we are expecting twins () so I knew that it was time for a larger truck. I went to the local dealer and was willing to negotiate a little over 10K off MSRP of a 2009 Ram Quad Cab Lone Star Edition, and was about to get a thousand over KBB on my tade in. The only problem was that the dealeer only had 2010's in stock and would have to locate a 2009 for me. The dealer found several 2009's for me to choose from and I ended up buying a Silver Quad cab. the next day the truck came in, looked awesome and everything was great. 3 days later I noticed that my tuck bed was about half an inch more towards the passenger side of the truck then the driver side. I took the truck in and they had it several hours. They made sure the frame was striaght, they tried to scoot the cab over, and then they tried to move the bed and nothing worked. They told me that the holes must of been drilled a little bit off into the frame.
The manager got a hold of his Chrysler Rep, and Dodge bought the truck back and my dealer found me a new truck. This time they found me a Deep Water Blue which i like a lot better then the silver one. They ever knocked off $300 more for all the hassle. Just wanted to share my story with you. I was very pleased with Dodge and with my dealer for going above and beyond to make me happy. I was expecting a few hundred in accessories but they stepped up and got me a new truck. first class!!

great story, do you mind sharing the dealer's info? you will probably find that some dealers are not as customer service oriented as that one.

I had a similar replacement of an 09 Ram CC TRX for a transmission issue 3 days after the purchase through Boerne Dodge about 30 miles NW of San Antonio,TX. Fortunately they had another truck exactly like the first one as a replacement.

They bought that back so they can show the company they get the frames from and will probably not pay for any frames for the model year. They are gonna get something out of it.

My dealer told me that they would buy the truck back and then auction it off. would probably be a good truck at a low price!

Well you are one of the lucky ones, such an easy fix. They must know something it's hard to get the company to buy the truck back and for them to offer. Could be it was in an accident on the dealer lot and the repair was not done right. It would have to be disclosed when sold. It just seems like the dealer is taking that one back quick. For them to tell you them tried to move the cab I doubt it, it would put the fenders and everything out, would be worse. I think they are just shoving it back to the dealer that they bought it from and let them worry about the problem when I think about it, saving themselves and huge headache cuz you will be there constantly until its fixed right...right?
So the new one is all good?

Most states it has to pass a certain dollar amount before damage needs to be disclosed legally. And some states are pretty high, lot and transport damage is more common than most people think.

My guess is either they had another buyer for your truck or you really found a rare dealer. It may have been damaged in transit as well and they were scared you may have discovered it, but who cares, if you are happy with the overall deal and the truck thats all that matters.

Well guys the truck was traded from another dealer 2 hours away I was there soon after the truck came in so I know that the dealer I bought it from was not covering anything up.

On the ram the service manager informed me that the bed has no give to it so it cannot be move. However the cab does have a way to calibrate it up to a certain point. They checked this and everything was aligned perfectly. I had a body shop owner look over the truck and he Was sure it had not had any body work, that was a concern I had.

I really believe the dealer honestly wanted to make it right. I was working with one of the owners and he was great. When they had it trying to find a solution he gave me another brand new 2010 quad cab to use. For about a week I was in 3 different new trucks as loaners. Everytime I went in they traded me to another.

Well that is the first time I have ever heard someone get offered without having to fight. They usually only buy it back when they can get it paid for somehow like by a supplier. I am glad to see maybe since Toyota is hiding stuff good time for Dodge to get smart and up the service.
