Any word on the issue?

Mine always had a low idle and it got worse after sitting for a month. It idles low enough my oil pressure drops and my idiot light comes on. Even putting it in neutral at lights doesn't always work.

After mine is warmed right up it will sit at 500rpm too but doesnt feel like it wants to stall.. if I turn the steering wheel some it will drop to about 450rpm and then the computer kicks the idle up to about 550-600rpm briefly. stop turning the wheel and it will sit at 500 again.

I think that I found that at least on mine, that it may be related to the electrical load. If it is idling at 500 RPM and I turn the steering wheel, like others have seen, it will go up to ~600. I also found that when idling at 500 if I turn the A.C. fan (just the fan not the A.C. compressor) off and then up to high it will also bump the RPM's up. I read that there is a monitor for electrical load which will increase the idle RPM's when it senses the need for additional juice.

Well my idle is acting more weird than before. Experienced the surging a couple times earlier today and I'm like truck where do you think you are going?

This evening I was sitting parked, in park, parking break applied, lights/heater/etc. off talking on the phone and watching the tach rise and fall between 600 and 700 rpm all on its own. This got annoying so I gave the throttle a Varoom to about 3,000 RPM's and it settled back down to 600 for a few minutes then resumed its 600-700 bouncing up and down nonsense.

I wouldn't be too concerned with the idle dropping to 450-500 except that every now and then after I'm stopped, foot on the brake, not moving, I feel something in the drivetrain release, its not harsh but easily felt.

Service dept never did call me back like they were supposed to. I'll have to give them a call tomorrow.

Took my truck in for the low idle after being stopped for a few seconds. They took it in the back, brought it back out after about an hour. I went to the cashier to pickup my keys and paperwork. I started reading the invoice and instantly became pi$$ed. Invoice said they 'couldn't duplicate problem, flash update for condition, flashed software update for TIPM ANF PCM'. Now it sounds to me like they know about it because it said they 'flashed "update" for condition'. I got in my truck to leave and drove 200' to the street and after about 5 seconds after I stopped 'Guess what?' Yes the idle dropped to 450. I backed up 40' to where the salesman was that sold me the truck. After being stopped for about 5 seconds where he was it did it again. So the salesmans said "looks like its doing it to me" I went back to the service advisor and told him it did it twice in the lot. So he wants to drive it. He gets in takes off and drives 30' stops and immediatly takes off. Well after he did it the third time I was really torqued. I ran across the lot and told the noron that you have to be stopped for a few seconds before it happens. (like I told him when I came in this morning). Well he went around the building and I guess he finally sees what its doing, after about 15 minutes he comes back. I went out to see what he said and he started the song and dance about all the sensors giving the computer info and it determines what the idle should be. I asked him why it took a year and 8500 miles to start and the computer only does what it has been told to do it doesn't make it up as it goes along. The song and dance started again. He said that if it was anything electrical it would throw a code. I said OK but what if its not electrical what if its mechcanical and he went right back into the song and dance routine. By that time I was getting to hot to continue listening to the song and dance routine so I told him to give me my keys that I was not one of the everyday people who knows nothing about a car and falls for the BS that he was spreading. He handed me my keys and I walked off listening to more BS about this wasn't the way to solve this issue. I'll go back when the service manager is there.
