Default Body Lift - Anyone do it yet?

I went snowboarding today and saw a lifted ford in the parking lot. It looked good so I went over and talked to the owner. He said that he ordered a 3" body lift that came with bumper brackets and wheel well covers from 4wheel parts.com. His truck had 35's on it and he said he had no issues at all.

Anyone on here do a 3" body lift yet? I'm attracted to this option b/c of the price and the fact that it doesn't mess with drivetrain angles. I know that some people are going to argue this point, but as long as the warranty is not void, it doesn't matter. (I already know my dealer will warranty all body lifts b/c this is what I had to do on my wrangler till it expired... and he replaced 3 rear ends and 2 transfer cases for me when it was under warranty with a 2" body lift.)

Here's a link to what I'm looking at. Input and feedback is appreciated, pics are even better!

havent done one yet but ordered the lift thursday, will be getting it monday and will being installing it my self. reason for me going with body lift is it doesnt mess with the ride of the truck, the trucks sit to low stock. other guys are doing spacers and having problems. and people say the body lift is the cheap way,but the body lift is more money then the spacers. i did one 20 years ago and had no problems and looked great.

I'm anxious to see how yours turns out. Please post some pics when you are done. Are you planning on changing your tires/rims? If so, how about fender flares?

I think I'm going to do the same once my tires are worn... then I'll pick up some 35" all terrains. Working on getting the wife on board, but I think she'll go for it.

Iam going to stick with my 17 in 265 tires. with the 3in lift in the front i think it will be perfect. i like some room in my wheel well, my only concern is with the rear with the 265s, iam thinking it will look alright but might be a little to much wheel well space. i have a 2500 ctd with 245s stock, and i like the look [wheel well space]. i will try and get the kids to help me post pics once iam done. i cant wait i think 3 inchs on this truck is gonna be perfect.

This looks promising too...anyone hear any feedback? My only problem is the suspension mod for warranty reasons.

depends, you would have to contact the maker of the suspension lift to find out if they will work together or not. that is what im planning on doing. i am already getting the 6" and 37's, but i want to have a little more height out of it.

I hear you... I think the lack of actual height gain has something to do with coil suspension vs leafs. You used to be able to do a spring over axle conversion with leafs and get like 8" suspension lift for only a few hundred bucks... it would ride like ****, yes, but you could always fix it with double mount shocks and some aftermarket trac bars.

Thanks for all of the input... still waiting for anyone to actually say that they've done this though. I know there's gotta be some body lifted new rams out there... just maybe not on this forum.

Either way, I'm pretty sure this is the route I'm going to take since my truck will really never see the mud.
