Question New Truck!!

Ok folks, picking up a new (used) 09 Laramie Friday & selling the 01 SLT, Its been a while since i've been on the board...even had to get a new username as the system forgot me. Although used it only has 11k on it & has been titled to Chrysler...its got most of the bells & whistles, even a few i dont really need (DVD System & Nav.)...kids can read a book and i can only hope to get lost!

Anyway, looking to get a sprayed in liner, cold air intake & tonneau cover. Should mention this new truck has the ram box. Does the forum still have "deals" with various vendors for these things? I looked for a thread to this with no luck.

Also - If there are any things i should look out for that would be helpful. I read the Hemi needs to use 5w-20...news to me. Good info though. I'll look for a recall thread. I'm sure there's one out there.

thanks

5w20 part is in your manual, you shall see, has to do with MDS but Lucy spain to me why out Avenger also uses the same oil, just for commonality to save money? I think a 6 cylinder in the summer should use a thicker oil since with air and all they work hard. JMHO Now as far as the HEMI it has 7 Litres of oil or is it Quarts anyway that is a lot of oil, seems common sense it would last longer.

What are you paying for this used truck?

Reason I ask.... You can get a new one for 12K off sticker plus get better financing than a used vehicle.

Paid 35k for it...stickered at 52 & only has 10k miles on it. Yes - i know i can get a great deal on the 09's & looked high & low for a new one with the options i wanted but no luck. Also checked the 2kx's (2010's) and although i could get it i would have to order. If your not as picky as i am i agree...you can get some great deals out there.

Congrats! I got mine a little over a month ago and love it. Mine had 13,000km(8,000miles) on it. The guy who owned it previously had it less than 3 months and decided to trade it in for a Cummins. I paid $32,000 for mine and it came with a $5,000 gold plan extended warranty. The guy paid over $50,000 for it brand new. It is fully loaded but I don't have the rambox. There are some great deals out there. I was also looking at the 2010's but couldn't justify spending $15,000 more plus mine came with a much better warranty.

those deals are not available anymore. if you are getting the factory 2009 warranty, i think you are getting a good deal.

I asked if it would not be considered new but the salesman said no...in Wisconsin at least. I'm in Ohio. The one thing that was tough to find was a Laramie without that damn floor shifter...

Its cool if your under 6' maybe but i have long legs and at 6'5" 260 i like not having that there to let my legs "move" a little. Lets see if i can get a pic up here...
