Last time I checked, removing your valve stem cap does not make the stem come out of the rim. It is a typical valve stem onthe end of the sensor that is pulled trhough the rim. To get it out, you would need to somehow make the large part go back through the small hole it was pulled through. Not that easy to do.... I am sure with some wiggling and such, you could get them back through, and hope they would seat again, but I figured it was easier to sell the set with them and just buy a new set. Makes the ones I am selling, more valuable.

That;s the diagram from the FSM - where it says to remove the nut and pull the sensor out. Not sure about your truck, but mine matches the FSM - a nut snugged up against the rim.

Here's a picture since you don't understand what the FSM is showing

I left the sensors in my stock wheels because I will be using the stock 17,s for the winters. I think the more times you try and transfer the sensors between wheels the greater chance of damaging one. I will eventually get a second set of sensors.

So were your old wheels in the bed of the pickup?

Old wheels are not in the truck. I have been watching for the light in the dash to come on. I wasn,t watching for a message in the evic. Next time I have the truck out I will probably see the sensor message in the evic.

I am going to have to check my rims, but I am 95% sure I do not have snut on my stems. I know my wife keeps my nuts in here purse, I just didn't know she went this far....

No nut to remove, just pulled through like a regular valve stem. Yeah, I could get them out, but for the price, I don't want the hastle of a leaking stem.

That's the junk type of sensor, wonder if they switched to them on the 2010's to save money?

Possibly, they are cheap to buy a new set for sure. They seemed to work while in there though. Told the pressure of each tire. One of these days I will pick up a new set and have the guys toss them in.
