Jeez, if only the research companies realized that they could replace their highly paid analysts with kids from a college economics class. Sooner or later they will get wise

I'll stick with my broker and his pros

Okay, but just remember how the housing bubble and the financial market collapse occurred. "The pros"

Oh -- and none of us in class are "kids" unless you happen to be my dad's age.

I'm sure y'all did a great job analyzing debt ratios, etc. and the longterm future and health of the company and that is a solid analysis, that I would concur with, and a great warning to some - but there is A LOT of analysis done by the pros beyond what you learn in an intro finance class.... trust me.

For example, lots of people trade based on technical analysis, moving averages, trends, etc. and there's good money to be made there. SIRI is a risky stock, but it also has lots of room for reward thanks to its volatility.

Like I said, at $5/month, with no more than a 6 - 12 month commitment, there currently is no better alternative. Will new vehicles one day be streaming radio over 4G networks? It's a good possibility. But as great as MP3 players are these days, mine isn't integrated into my truck, and I hate updating my MyGig every few weeks (I'll do it every quarter or so), so if I want to listen to something up to date, or the news, or talk radio, Sirius is my go to choice, as it is for many others.

Well, perhaps you're right. After all, the company has never posted a profit, in 2008 the CEO stated in the Annual Report that the company may not survive, and if/when the pricey Howard Stern retires a large percentage of his loyal fanbase will drop Sirius like a bad habit. Makes great sense

Either way, it doesn't matter to me. I'm just trying to offer some insight that some people haven't or won't consider.

Just Google "Alternatives to Sirius" and do some research. You'll be surprised.

So how much longer do you give the company before they are no more? WV and Dodge?

Oh trust me, you'll get at least a weeks worth of calls, I got calls for 2 weeks straight, even on saturday morning at 8am. I'm at the point where unless I get it for the lowest price on this thread($55 incl fees/taxes per year) I'll do without.

Waahoo its back on. The deal I got was $96 and change for a year on one truck and $67 and change for the other. Both a year renewal and both prices were with fees and state taxes included.
