Default Not Happy with Dodge

Im a little disappointed. I didnt know nothing about the 3.21 gear crap. The dealer said nothing about it. Then throw in the mds running rough. I saved up money that i worked hard for and now im feeling cheated about the product i got. I am starting to wish i would have bought a chevy.

I hear ya, sucks getting burned like that. I have never trusted the dealerships in my area and never will. Been straight up lied to on multiple occasions. I too have the 3.21's its one of those features I had to ask about, there wasn't anything on the lot like I wanted except for this truck, the only bummer were the gears.

Its not the end though, theres several different routes you can take, multiple online venders sell Mopar parts for discount rates, its a hassle and ****ty to pay even more money but for me its worth it. It was either this or a less optioned truck, I went with the lower gears knowing I can change them in the future.

This- http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214650 is a good site, 35% off list list price, Ive purchased from them before. I plan on purchasing some gears from them soon enough, I'll most likely get the whole axle assembly and have a shop swap em out for cheap. I dont want the gears screwed up, and I don't trust the shops around here, a little more expensive then just a gear swap but far less to screw up on in my opinion.

Here is the whole axle- http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0

I wouldn't go to Chevy, I think there ugly as all get out....plus no Hemi

sounds like you bought a very expensive product without doing any research. sorry to bum you out but its not dodges fault. some people want 3.21s and it said it on your window sticker. sounds like you didnt know about gear ratios at all to not consider it when getting a new truck. did they tell you not to pay attention to the window sticker cuz it really has 3.55s or 3.92s. then you would've been cheated. if you bought a chevy with a poor gear ratio you would still feel cheated, no? my co worker bought a sierra 2500 when i got my hemi with 3.55s and hes dissapointed in his truck compared to mine. its got no zip or power and the rear bumper looks like a leopard from rust after 4 months and 4000 miles. my wife bought an 09 frontier in may and traded it for a 010 ram last month after testing every full size pickup brand except titan cuz nissan is a heap of crap. sorry you bought the wrong gears but dont blame dodge for offering the option for the people who want it. i'll post pics of our "hiz'n'herz" when she gets nerfs and vent visors. mines black and hers tan/silver(greystone)! they are awesome!!!!!sorry again that your upset

13 post's and your crying already about your new truck and how Dodge screwed you. Let me ask you a few questions. When you bought your new truck did you know it had 3.21 gears? If you did know then why did you buy it? Or rather, did you purchase your truck ignorant about any hypothetical gear ratio issue until you joined a public forum such as this and read about it which in turn caused you to feel like you got burnt? Either way your at 100% at fault. What did you expect the dealer to do, say excuse me sir, but do you know this truck has supposed inferior 3.21 gears and you may want to pass on it.

When I decided on a 2010 Ram for myself I went to my dealer and ORDERED the EXACT truck I wanted. Within 7 weeks it was in my driveway just the way I spec'ed it. I learned the hard way many years back that only you can watch out for yourself.

As for the MDS issue I have a 2500 which does not have that feature but from what I've read the MDS can exhibit a shudder/roughness when it's in operation. Sound's normal too me just like the Hemi tick and other characteristic traits every vehicle has.

Enjoy your new truck or go buy a GM vehicle which has it's own set of traits. Trust me I've owned trucks from all of the Big 3 and this new Dodge blows the others away.

Have a nice day

Chalk it up to a lesson learned and move on. For a few dollars extra, it can be corrected.

BINGO what I would have said.

The HEmi tick I bet is those manifold bolts they are replacing, and I get seamless MDS operation, I watched the tac to see when it is coming on since I don't have the light and well no sound just the revs go up a bit. So if you have roughness and you can tell when it's switching I would say take it in.

You guys are right. I still love the truck and i to think chevy has the ugliest truck on the road. I just think the car dealers should inform you more about the vehicle. I had no idea dodge sets different gears on trucks. I dont know why they would do such a thing. This is still the best truck ive ever had

If you didn't know nothing about the 3.21 gear crap (sic), then you have lost nothing.

Your truck is a winner. It blows the others away, because it has coil springs. MDS doesnt run rough normally. Get that addressed, and you have a great truck.

If you want a Chevy, or any other inferior POS, go buy one and then you can drip on their forums about how you wish you'd kept your RAM.

Truth is, YOU probably know more about the truck than the salesman does...You just missed a point.
