Its time for a spark plug change and I would like to use the same plugs the truck came with, I believe they're NGR LZFR5C-11. I can't find these darn things anywhere on the internet. All the OEM part sites want 8 bucks per plug and it doesn't say what kind of plug it is. Anyone have suggestions?

Well I found out that these plugs aren't available on the aftermarket, you can only get them at the dealer. I guess I'll just go with the NGK platinums and not worry about it for another 100k miles.

 

i was hoping someone would chime in. i thought i heard in another thread that they went with copper core so they wouldnt mess with the electrical system or something of that nature. that platinums didnt do well in these trucks.. i dont know.....

 

I don't really know either....I've read about people using platinums with no problems and also read that its not recommended.

I would get OEM. I tend to trust the manufacturer of the engine for items like that on a basically stock engine. There has been horror stories of different plugs in the 3rd gen Hemi.

 

Unfortunately I feel the same way about keeping engine parts OEM. I'll head over to the dealer and see what they want for 16. If its 8 bucks a plug like the OEM part websites charge then forget it.

 

subscribed. anyone changed them themselves? how much of a pain in the *** is it. or just get the dealer to do it? or how much for the dealer to do it?
