Good luck with your new gears and looking forward to the update. I hope they work out for you and do not cause any of the headaches others have experienced. IMO- it seems like too much of a mod and $$$ for a 35" tire- might as well go to a 37" tire to make it worth your while!

On a side note... I wonder how many people with OEM LSD gears (3.92s I'm assuming since it has LSD) and 35s had a rear end that only lasted a month?

What ratio did you end up going with dude? You put on 1200+ miles a week with a truck that gets 13-20 mpg and expensive tires? Wow you must spend a fortune on gas and tires! Best of luck with everything, let us know how it works out. "Don't fear the gear..."

What LSD did you end up going with? I would recommend the Detroit TruTrac. It seems to hold together quite a bit better than the OEM unit, but I have yet to have a problem with my OEM units (knock on wood).

I went with 4.10's and with the programmer im getting about 19 miles per gallon so if it goes down to 18 or 17 I can live with it. My Mileage is re-embursed so I dont care so much about that. I went with the Detroit True Track.

And for Section88.... I actually need the lift kit and suspention for my job, yeah I have one of the cool ones where I get way over paid to go off road. I do however appreciate your concern for my alleged short commings. I will be sure to double check with the wife and make sure im not compensating as well, as this could change everything. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention as it could be a cause for concern.

4.10s sound like a good compromise, let us know how it all works out!

I see your point and I'll raise ya, lol! I agree to the sales pitch...but! For instance...if you had a 600 hp motor in your truck you could smoke the hell out of your tires and your 91/4 gear would last for a while. That is until you you hook up with a good set of slicks... come out of the whole at 3k+ rpms and you'd ****** the rear end clean out of there, he he! Just like you would applying torque to those big tires if they bite when you're pull something or someone with them. If the tires don't break the next weakest link will! Dat be the gears...he made the right choice, he he!

Ok so I decided to go with the 4.10's. They are getting installed next Thursday. Rick from www.drivetrainspecialists.com was AWESOME. Gave me a lil doscount here and there and I feel like I got a good deal. 2400.00 for Gears, rebuild kits, a Detroit locker and install (install at my local shop). I cant wait to see how it goes.
