I have keyless entry but no alarm. I asked the dealer about activating the factory alarm, they said it can't be done. They said some trucks came with the alarm and others didn't and if yours didn't come with it from the factory there is no way to turn it on.

 

Cool, atleast I know that it can't be done. Must've been mistaken before about the alarm going off, it must've been the panic button being pushed while in my pocket. I guess in the future I'll get one of those remote start/alarm systems.

 

I had the factory remote start added - thats when I asked the dealer about the alarm. It was still a no go on the alarm, said can't be done.

 

i have a 09 sport hemi with factory remote start,the alarm is working,with the window down lock the door the small red light on the dash is blinking fast for about 30 seconds after it blink slow at this time if i unlock the door with my hand with window down and open the door the horn of the truck start beeping just like the panic button.

 

That is because the Remote Start and the Factory alarm are a package deal from the factory...at least that is the way it was with mine.
