The truck will let you know when it needs an oil change the instrument panel will say contact dealer oil chang due. mine usaully does it around every 5k. As far as being able to tow the breakin period is 300 miles. Your bumber should have some print on the plasic peice that will tell you how many pounds you can to with a class 4 hitch mine will tow 5000 lbs off the lot. I will be getting a class 5 which will allow to tow more.

okay so is it true you can go longer with oil changes in trucks then cars? and why is that? but if you're hauling a trailer shouldn't you change it more often (as I frequently haul a horse trailer)

Don't worry about when to change the oil. Mine came on at 2500 miles. But I am at 9000 miles on a 2009 and only changed it twice. It's driven very sporadically.

Don't forget, 16 new plugs at 30,000. That's right, 16 new plugs at 30,000 miles and every 30,000 miles there after. My dealer quoted $359.99 for the recommended plugs and tune up. Tune UP?
They do not recommend platinum plugs either. My last truck had over 100,000 miles and the plugs were changed once, at 100,000 miles and only 8 plugs not 16.
