I chose the 5.7 because I wanted more TQ/HP and got my current Ram at a price that was so much cheaper than what the dealer had on the lot with the 4.7. Yea the 4.7 gets better MPG(Flexfuel), but the difference is only 2MPG and the difference in that TQ is so much worth the sacrifice.

You're going to get a barrage of answers to this question, most likely with more people favoring the Hemi. The ultimate question is what are your needs and which engine will best suit them? Each of us will have our reasons for choosing the engines we did. My reasons for getting the Hemi were that power and torque were more important to me than economy.

I've had both, and for me the 5.7 actually gets me better mileage. Maybe I was running the 4.7 too hard? Anyway, flexfuel is mostly a joke - very few places have it.

Depends on where you live. E85 is all over the place in MN.

As for the OP - I was going to buy a 4.7, but ran into a really good deal on a 5.7. Either one would have met my towing needs.

I wanted the most power I could find. I was used to a 500+ HP 454 in my last truck, I wouldn't have been happy with a 4.7 I have a heavy trailer and need the power to pull. I am not one to slow on hills, mileage be damned.

Had the 4.7 in my 02 and now have the 5.7 in my 10. The Hemi is a nice option but the 4.7 was no slug either.

bought the hemi cause the sticker said it got better gas mileage then the 4.7, figured more power and better mileage no brainer, maybe it don't actually get better mileage but that is life, not disappointed with it one bit.
