I have the aem intake on my truck which is the same thing. I have the 18" mufflex muffler and I will say that the cold air intake made the cabin louder under full throttle than the muffler did. That being said, it is only louder when you want it to be and not a problem....it passed the wife test for me.

The real question is?
Does it make any power? Most threads I see from people that installed the cai say that they installed a muffler at the same time. So how much (if any) does the cai alone make? Also, does it give any mpg gains?

I don't care for loud but I would like the 5.7 to breath a little better and get another mpg or 2 out of it.

cai's won't help fuel economy or give much (if any) noticeble hp. They only make you feel like your getting more power

In the winter I drive 16 miles one way to work. I noticed a solid 1 mpg increase when I installed my muffler. Then two months later I installed the cai and picked up another 1 to 2 mpg's. That is my experience.

glad it worked out for you. Most of what I read is that it makes little to no difference, some cases fuel economy drops

you have to drive like you normally do to see the increases. Most people cant resist the urge to gun it to hear their new intake or exhaust.

I dont care about mileage or I would have bought a Prius. I like the quiet cab and with my 07 the K&N kit was LOUD at idol and acceleration

I installed the Mopar CAI and it has no drone in the cab and sounds great, not to loud. On my Ford I installed a Volant and it drove me nuts with the in cab drone.
