Default RRT - Exhuast Manifold Bolts

I took my truck in to the dealer yesterday to for an oil change and other items including the exhaust manifold bolts. Those bolts are on backorder and no time frame of when they'll be in. That sucks, my truck sounds like the the old Honda down the street with the broken exhaust manifold!

Not a good sound for a $40,000 truck.

I think it would be rational for chrysler to allow us to provide the dealers with bolts ..

My truck is in the shop as we speak to take care of some issues ..
1. puddle lights got water in them months ago and stopped working.
2. rambox lid skins warping
3. door gaskets binding and falling down
4. exhaust manifolds
5. any other RRT's or recalls

My dealer hasn't called me yet to advise how its going, but if they tell me that the bolts are also on back order with them, i will offer to purchase some grade 8 bolts myself from a local bolt dealer .. why wait for bolts purcahsed by chrysler in bulk at low cost when i can go spend 10 bucks and provide my dealer with the bolts myself ..

Stand by .. i'll update in the next day or so when i get an update ..

Grade 8 bolts are not a subsitute for exhaust studs. If you want to supply your own, look in the ARP catalog and get some actual exhaust studs.

Took truck in today for the RRT for the front seal on the output shaft. I don't know if it was leaking...if so probably weeping anyway that got changed. Funny last night I called to make the appt. and I asked if they had my studs in they said they got another one in and should get another in a few week. 2 ea for the 7&8 cylinders. While in there the service dude comes in and says parts just called and said your 4 th stud came in do we wanna wait the extra time and have it put in. Sure. So that got done..cool. So I guess I am all caught up. Only issue I have is 08 Avenger have balljoint and lower control arm recalls in the US but nothing here in Canada, Anyone else in Canada get any work done and what was the recall or whatever it is number? Thanks.

Each person is in line at the dealer for the studs in order of when you called. So if you have even one stud you are the next in line to get them done as I am told unless someone has a situation with a broken or cracked manifold as a result. This is how it was explained to me.
As they get them they put them in your name and wait till all are there. Who knows maybe just a story. It all goes back to the bankruptcy and scrambling to replace suppliers that went out of business waiting for GM and Chrysler to get back to business. You can probably order your own parts but I bet they would not warranty it.

Results after picking my truck up today.
1. entire mirrors ordered
2. dealer says warping is NORMAL
3. door seals ordered.
4. Dealer says NO LEAKS PRESENT AT THIS TIME.
5. see below for other RRT's done ..

So they also did some RRTs i wasnt aware of ..
1. 09-041 flash abs/esp module
2. 09-095 replaced weatherstrip door window belt inner
3. 09-096 lens.lamp, high mounted stop lamp, replaced lense
4. 09-063 replace lock cylinder ram box
5. 09-023 flash park assist
6. 09-024 replace frame, driver seat, lubricate pivot shaft to frame contact joints
7. 09-029 replace hood bumper tape anti squeak.
8. 09-035 inspect/replaced tailgate spoiler

I'll speak to the service manager about my rambox doors and manifold bolts getting replaced when i go back to get my mirrors replaced and my gaskets replaced. My truck was built 3-09 so that leads me to assume the bolts need to be replaced .. what i need from you guys is help finding the detailed bulletin regarding those bolts . .i'm going to say " look you can replace them now before they start to leak and or before they break, or you can spend several hours trying to get them out after they have broken .. and maybe require a new manifold to boot " .. i hope they see it my way .. also .. i need help finding the detailed bulletin regarding those rambox doors warping .. any help would be greatly appreciated ..
Seems like they don't want to do what will cost them the most money to fix ..
how do dealers get paid for warranty work ?

You should call and get them to get the order in for your studs, took me a few months to get them. Only way you get them if you order them thru service.
Seems like you havent been to a dealer since you got the truck, most of those updates should have been done a long time ago.

I would like to know this also . thats why i need the full bulletin on it .. maybe some model trucks. ( certain sales codes ) are exempt ..

And yes this is the first time i took my truck in for the work involved since i bought my truck... i bought my truck in long island .. i live 3.5 hours north so i had a local dealership do it for me .. since they didnt sell me the truck, i think they are hesitant to get my rambox lids replaced and the studs replaced ... opinions ?

There was a recall or rrt for the warped rambox lids.

Only thing I know of the rrt on the exhaust studs is that it says that if any of the studs broke that they need to replace them all on that side. If they have not broken yet then they replace only 2 of them.

Whats the reason for the recall on the front axle seal and was it the passenger side as mine was leaking and no recall anyhow didnt trust my dealer and replaced it myself for 20 bucks also dont live close to the dealer and it would of cost me more just to run around bringing it back and fort to the dealer before they would say its waranty .
