Default Do Performance Upgrades for 2010 5.7 Hemi Really Work???

New to the half ton world. My last few trucks have been diesels. I now have a 2010 QC Sport 5.7 hemi w/ 3.55 rear end. Anyway I am thinking of doing a few minor performance upgrades such as power programmer, exhaust, and air intake. I did all that to a few diesels and they made a big difference especially in HP. Question is will they make a difference in HP, torque, and better MPG's in the gas burners? I will occasionally tow a 4500lb boat on the weekends if that makes a difference as well. I would like to try to increase my MPG's if there is anything that actually helps . Also what mfg's do you recommend Superchips, Diablo, Smarty, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, AFE, K&N, etc, etc.? Thanks.

It will not make as a big a difference as it does with the diesels. Programmers are amazing with those things.

With that said it will help performance. My experience is little to nothing with MPGs. I have a SC, Magnaflow and CAI (K&N). Truck runs consistent 5.8 0-60, 09 Hemi sport RCSC 4x4 with 3.92s

You should be faster than a 5.8. I'd imagine you'd be low 5's 0-60 shouldn't you? Is the 4x4 that much heavier than a 2x4? Or are you just going off the SC times? I bet your faster than you think.

Try this site out, it's probably a little more accurate than your handheld.

My best 0-60 is a 5.33

Those 3 mods work very well together on the Hemi.

0-60 I would guess in the 7 second range with a 1/4 time in the mid 15s. Maybe low 15s with ideal conditions.

SOCAL--Man I'd love to go but I'll be in Havasu this weekend.

My son has an 08 Dodge mega cab Cummings turbo diesel 3500 HD etc. and it had 605 ft lbs of Tq. He chipped it and supposedly it is now doing 800 ft lbs of torque. Wow. Don't know how the hemi's do chipped though.

The 6.4 powerjoke is amazing with a tune. With ONLY a spartan tune, a superduty crew cab can run mid 12s
