Speaker question
Just out of curiosity, why not Infinity? I just installed some 6 x 9 2-ways in the front doors. I had to do a little carving to the door bracket behind the magnet, and use the supplied spacers and longer mounting screws but everything works great. According to Crutchfield neither the Polks nor the Infinitys will fit, but I think that you would have no problem if you're a little adventurous. I also have 3.5 Kappas on order for the dash.
I picked the Infinitys because of there high efficiency and I'm trying to get the most out of the factory head unit.
Here's a link http://https://dodgeforum.com/forum/...xperience.html from early this year with lots of pics and tips thanks to Eternalodyssey.
because I am not going to be using a head unit, and infinity's ohom rating is not 4 ohm they ae 2 ohm , they say 4 ohm with the wire but I have read that is more like 2.9-3.something. And I am going to be running an amp and running the 6x9's off one pair of the channels (2 ohm stereo) and that would put them at less then 2 ohm stereo. Don't want to burn up an amp

If each speaker is 2ohm, just buy a 2ohm capable amp....Your final impedence will not drop with wire but instead it will rise, you will also recieve more power running them at 2ohm as opposed to 4ohm
And that put me off of any thoughts of a quick speaker upgrade...
But if it's simply the door speakers, or some low-pass filter build directly into the stock speakers, then I'll have to start thinking about this upgrade again. I'd really like to move the sound "focus" away from the center dash speaker...
Do you mean that your installer simply replaced the stock 6x9 fronts with full-range 6x9s ?? Without replacing anything else in the door speaker circuit ?? In an older thread, it was said that the front doors were on a low-pass filter circuit - meaning any replacement without major rewiring would be the same bass-only. It meant to me that simply replacing speakers wouldn't improve the situation.

no cause crutchfield says infinity's won't work but people get them in so i don't like them anymore I liked it when they published specs, IE Tweeter protrusion that you are allowed for a vehicle or depth etc etc
