There is a depth issue so a lot of people are doing a adapter plate and putting in a component 6.5" but there are a few 6x9's that fit. I am not sure of them but have read it somewhere in here.

I installed some Alpine Type S 6x9's all around my truck

There was just a little clip that needed to be shaved off and my audio guy said that most aftermarket speakers have to shave that little clip out as it's common in all cars/trucks

doors arent hard to pop off so I say give it a test run

I don't think full range speakers are needed in the front, you need just a bass speaker with a voice coil or something like that your tweets are on the dash.

They arent required but my audio guy showed me the difference in sound quality, it was night and day....mind you I already had the 4x6x9's to put in.

Not sure what 6x9 s work but i went ahead and installed boston 3.5s in the dash running off the front channel of my pioneer 4200 dvd. I then did the boston sr60 in the front and back doors. I drilled out the plastic where the mirrors are and flush mounted the tweeters in the front doors. In the back i just put the tweeters and 6.5 in the stock location. Im running the door speakers off of a cadence ia4. Never tried that brand before but the number looked good and it sounds good too.

I have memphis 6x9s in the back doors, changed my front speakers again to Polk Audio 6.5" mid bass with a tweeter. I just ordered JBL C2 3.5" speakers for the dash but have not installed them yet.
