I walked out of a liquor store, Pretty drunk, thease young kids were parked in a red raptor reving the engine hard, trying to impress thease chicks, one began to rub her mid section on the front of the ford, as I am such a lover of Fords, I yelled to the kid to rev up the truck ( I wanted him to trow a rod, ie put a ford on the grave) the kid reved the rap hrd for abought five mim, thinking I was impressed, well all it did was draw the attention of the cops.

Than I walked home and posted silly pics abought traveling arround the world in 80 beers...LOL.....

The horsepower on the 6.2 is not much better than the Hemi. You'd think for that much money the would have some serious H.P. i have driven the Harley F150 w/ a 5.4 supercharged engine. My 09 would kill it no problem, and you have to spring for 93 oct gas. Ford has no clue anymore on how to make H.P. imo.....

My buddy has a 6 speed '11 GT with the 5.0. It's supposed to make 412 at the crank. After breaking it in, it put down 391 to the wheels. After a tune only(there are no other performance mods yet) it put down 415 to the wheels.

These engines are going in the truck soon, possibly along with an eco-boost version.

The $$ part of this truck isn't engine, anyways.

The Ford performance vehicles have always been under rated from the factory. The new 5.0 in the Mustang is a prime example as were the Terminators.

I do not see the new 5.0 going into the F150s at the current power levels. It has 11 to 1 compression and less torque than HP, not exactly suited for a truck. They'll retune it at around 350 and make it the base V8 option with the 6.2 as the top V8.

The Hemi isn't far off from that compression level.

They absolutely have not always been underrated from the factory. I think it was the Cobras from the mid-nineties that actually were WAY over-rated to the point where there was a class action lawsuit filed. They have to be on their toes now.

Edit: it was the '99 Cobra. About 30 less HP due to some manufacturing problems....

You're right. There was one year model Cobra that didn't deliver the advertised power but Ford was quick to fix with a retune or exhaust, I don't remember all the details. For the most part Ford has always been very reliable on delivering what they advertise as far as HP goes.

And while we're talking Mustangs, the new GT totally kicked the SRT8's *** in this month's Motor Trend. In fact the V6 nearly did.

They weren't exactly quick...there was legal action taken after recalls that dragged on and on didn't fix the issues. In fact, they didn't even put it out in '00.

The new '11s are dope. The car I mentioned before went 12.6 at 112 on street tires with a road race suspension set up. Nothing but a tune, in humid conditions.

They weigh close to 600 #s less than a SRT-8.
