OK, some sympathy for the OP.
I do a LOT of back-road (some truly off-road but mostly along traces that are still listed on old BLM and USGS maps) driving throughout the old Colorado Plateau - most all fine sand or outright dust (inches deep). I've posted before about problems with dust infiltrating the cabin. And the amounts of balance-destroying dust caked in the wheels.
I've all but given up on the quantity of dust that collects in the bed on such adventures. I've got a Truxedo Lo-Pro, but decided to not bother with tailgate seals after recognizing the number and size of "drain holes" in the bed. On the freeway ride home, I roll-up the cover and let the slipstream return as much dust as possible to the local environment. After each trip, I get up to a shoebox full swept out with a broom, and then visit the power-sprayer bay to sluice out the rest (and clean the flat inside wheel rims to get my wheels "re-balanced").
I keep the cargo in the bed, the important stuff in the cabin. In my mind, "It's a Truck - it gets Dirty."
