Default Exhaust

Hey name is Rich, im not new to the forum but mainly just been a reader... i just got a 2010 ram 1500 hemi bout 4 weeks ago now..

and im gonna fire up another exhaust topic.. i know i know.

anyway i want a nice rumble for my hemi... all i wanna do is replace the muffler, i know your mostly gonna say "mufflex" well i was headed that route when i realized that im looking at about 400 bucks canadian by the time i recieve it, and well i can buy a muffler and have it welded in all stainless for much less...

the question is what muffler... its a toss up between magnaflow and flowmaster.... ive heard some magna flow clips and i really like it, but i havent heard any flows to compare it to.....\

so i have a few questions.... im looking at a 14 magna or a 40 flow...i think...

questions... whats the tone of each like... is one or the other more annoying on the highway? whats got a decent loudness at idle but roars when tromped..
i read that ram hemis dont like flowmaster... for the life of me i cant figure that out... is it true if so why?

just as much info on this would be awesome as i wanna make the right choice when i head to the shop.

thanks all, and thanks for all the other informations youve been providing without even knowing.lol

Rich:smileup:

I got a few prices from 2koolperformance in Ontario for my single exhaust SLT. They have great prices for Canada! These are catback systems
corsa 24406 $539
magnaflow 16867 $699
if I don't get the mufflex I think I'll go Corsa.

The Magnaflo to me is perfect, not to loud. If stock exhaust sound is a 3 the magnaflo is a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10, and no in cab drone.

Everyone I know that has Magnaflow is happy never a complaint....the few with flowmaster have gotten lights on the dash, and crappy sounding exhaust when in ECO or Fuel Saver mode.

I have the swept side exhaust.3'' in to two 2.5'' outlets. If I had to do it over I would keep the outlet 3'' instead of two 2.5''. Yes it's the cat back, although you would be fine by just changing the muffler. I also deleted the resonator.
