Default Bakflip praise thread with a pic.

I had a Bakflip G2 that I had some issues with a while back. I was told to e-mail jmaimin here on the forum about the issues. He promptly addressed my concerns and agreed to send me a new cover. He shipped me a new F1 and had someone personally call me to give me the tracking information. He was very professional throughout the entire transaction. The G2 gave me a lot of good use and when I did have an issue with it Bak Industries went out of their way to see that I was taken care of.

Do not hesitate to buy from Bak Industries, jmaimin, or any of their distributors.

Here is a pic of the installed product on my Ram

Have you tried loosening the front and shifting it to that side a little to let the gasket overlap better? If not you might want to see if the weather stripping is damaged on that side.

My G2 never leaked until the panels warped. That was before they started beefing up the frames to prevent them from warping.

Does sound like an adjustment problem. I'd make sure that the frame is square and that you have the rails seated all the way down on the truck. Only water I get in my bed is from the tailgate.

Definately a great cover. I had leaks at first but repositioned and added spacers. I was told you didn't need spacers on the 2010's but after I put them in there were no more leaks.

yea, mine is positioned square and correctly with equal overlap on each side. It leaks at the hinge point on the inboard side of the flat seal. Its no big deal it only leaks if the truck is sitting in a rainstorm and the water has a chance to pool on the cover. Mine didn't come with spacers.

Sounds like you have the same leak I had, mine didn't come with the spacers either I had to request them. I felt that without the spacers the rails tilted slightly to the inside of the bed thus allowing the water to overflow the channel. The spacers level the rails more so the inside is not lower than the outside.

Another tip is to try and park uphill so the water can flow out the tailgate. I was told that the drain cups up front can't handle a deluge without overflowing. Since I put the spacers in and park uphill the bed is dry as a bone.

That's exactly it, now that I think of it the left rail didn't seem to mount up as flush as the right hand when I installed it. I'll make some spacers to put in there. Thanks!

Glad I could help. I put the spacers on both sides just to keep things even and I think it snugged up the cover just that tiny little bit that made all the difference.

The spacers they sent me seemed to be nothing more than pieces of cut up bed liner. They looked the same as my factory bed liner with an adhesive backing.

PS: mine was leaking on the left side too.

I put a G2 on the '09, and it's been great, no spacers or leaks. I then took it off the 09 and refitted it on the '10, and it went on without problems, and again, no spacers or leaks.

I will admit to having snapped off one of the stays that keep the lid up when it's fully retracted, but that was my fault. Haven't managed to get it back on yet, the channel is too difficult to drill in the right place!
