Default Slow off the line

I have a '10 2500 hemi with 4.10s, Airaid CAI and TB spacer, Flowmax 40 and duals. I am rather disappointed with the power off the line. Midrange get up and go is great, but this thing seems to bog down off the line. Not what i was expecting, esp with the 4.10s. Any advice?

How about buy a car instead of a 3 ton truck if you want to drag race?

Superchips is your friend. OR hurry up, return it and get a diesel. You can drag race 3 ton diesels all day long!

Thanks for the kind and helpful words; really what i was looking for. I was more wondering if anyone on this site had much information regarding the Torque Management on these trucks, as this seems to be a major concern amongst many people with these trucks.

P.S. The fact that a car or a diesel truck is easier for drag racing is exactly why I wanted to get a hemi instead. I personally value a challenge and having something unique. however, as an MD i have limited time to devote to this task, so I rely upon sites like this one to help me out. I appreciate all you that take the time help others (such as myself).

Enjoy your rigs!

Why rag him out when you knew the answer yourself. You should have asked Does anyone know anything about the torque management and the effect it has on hole shots? Just sayin.

It's only a major concern for those who are using their trucks like a mustang, but I'll be helpful.

The only real way to disable the system fully is to disconnect a rear wheel sensor. You'll get some dash lights coming on and the ABS and cruise control won't work any more, but you can sit and spin the tires to your hearts content. The downside it that unless you have a locker, you'll only be spinning one wheel - and if you have an LSD it won't last too long.

I am confused. I thought this was a forum for people that love trucks and want to help others. All i have received is passive agressive, smart-*** responses or negative comments about my truck. Why didn't I ask specifically about TM? Its called open ended questioning, an interviewing technique used to obtain as much info as possible when you admittedly don't know the best answer.

I also know that certain mods are better for low end torque, but I am not sure as to which ones. This is another type of response that would be appreciated. I know that people have 1500 rams running 12's in the 1/4 mile, and while my truck is obviously alot heavier, that shouldn't mean that I am stuck running 16's for the rest of time. right?

p.s. I saw a full size 1980s van run a 12 sec 1/4 the other day. How cool is that!?!? That's the kind of stuff that motivates me

The Hemi in the 1500 Ram is not the same as the one in the 2500 - so its not an apples to apples comparison.

Torque management and the ESP system is one of the things that is keeping the drivetrain from exploding when you launch it.

And I'm serious about how to improve your launches by disconnecting the wheel sensor. However while your launch improves you stand an excellent chance of wrecking something. Your truck weighs 6000lbs, and all that weight is going to break parts if you are ever able to put all the available power to the ground.

I was just reading up on Predator tuners and it mentions how it has an option to disable ESP and you lose ABS,etc. Kind of unfortunate. How is the HEMI different in a 1500 vs 2500? I intend on doing all the appropriate drivetrain upgrades that will be needed once I get the power that I want. I basically want to create a HEMi that can compete with a cummins (I didnt say beat all cummins, just compete with some of them, lol). I anticipate needing improved torque converter/tranny, driveshaft, brakes, etc.

Anyone on here have, or know of anyone with a quick 3/4 ton gas truck?

One difference I know of is that the Hemi in the 2500 doesn't have MDS, which is a pretty significant thing, both for design and mileage. Not sure about any other diffs.
