My wives Commander has this featrure. Where I live (near the city) it is useless. When we travel home to NH and drive around the country roads it is pretty handy to have. I agree it is not hard to turn high beams on and off but if you have the feature why not use it. Like I said if you live in the country it works pretty good, especially on those sharp corners that always seem to have a car on the other side of them!

I am unsure if I am to have the smart beam option or not

Please forgive my ignorance, but I have had nothing but trouble with my 2010 ram (Laramie). Some issues have been Dodge issues, some dealer issues. Examples; Warren plant could not find the truck; status said one thing dealers dodge rep said another. When the truck finally arrived 16 weeks after ordering , it had trim it should not have, a missing wiring harness, and had a damaged mirror and damaged paint.

I now am questioning if it is also missing the smart beam option. The in cabin rear view mirror has a white forward facing square. I believe someone else in another tread said that this is for the auto headlights. I am therefore confused. The sensors I have are as follows;
1) The rear view mirror has one sensor for the on the left as you look at it for auto dimming the in cabin rear view mirror.
2) The rear view mirror has one sensor for the on the right as you look at it – Presumption – U connect microphone
3) On the overhead console between the rear sliding window control and the garage door opener there is another input- looks like a microphone, DO NOT KNOW WHAT THIS DOES?
4) On the dash right next to the window (centre) is a sensor that looks like it is for the auto headlights. (At least on my Silverado this is what it is)
Any thoughts?
Thanks
