That slight shimmy you mentioned does not sound normal. Could that be an alignment issue?

I took the truck in and had the alignment and balance verified. Everything was good.

The road surface affects how bad it is. Sometimes the "shimmy" is less than what I stated above.

I test drove a couple vehicles at the dealership that had "packages" on them. ie tires, lift, etc.

I drove a 09 1500 with 35" Toyo's, same thing as my ProComp's. I also drove a 09 2500 with Mickey Thompson's, 33" I think. The shimmy was 10 times worse. The steering wheel would rock over 1". Plus the road noise was incredible. You had to crank the radio way up to hear it over the tires.

The Toyo's were A/T's and the Mickey's were M/T's. Not sure about the specific model of each one.

Think I ruled the Nittos out due to performance in wet weather and Noise. After reading all the reviews I think Im gonna go with the Toyo OC MT. Biggest downfall was the price according to the reviewers and I got the local shop here to do a price match with an internet site I found. Cant beat the price and I think I like the more aggressive sidewall. I do like the 40,000 mile warranty on the pro comps but everyone says that they are getting great tread wear out of the Toyos and upwards of 50k miles or more.

Ok so I'm sold. Thanks for the feed back.

Although both the Toyo and the Pro Comp got great reviews I decided on the Pro Comps.

Reasons why,

Aside from the great reviews from you guys and other owners, They are .5" smaller, .5" narrower, Less aggressive tread, 8lbs lighter per tire. (All this should get me better gas millage then the Toyos. We will see) Also being a hair smaller I think will look better. I dont want it to look like I tried to sqeeeze the largest tire I possibly could under the fenders. I also know the 12.5 wide tire will work and according to the sales guy the 13" of the Toyo should work. I really dont want to deal with any rubbing issues.

They also have a 40,000 mile warranty which wasn't a deal breaker for me but I like Pro Comps confidence to offer that.

Also found out that 13" is on the fringe of being able to run the truck through my local car wash. 12.5 is no problem.

All and all the Pro comp just seems like the more practical choice. I don't need a MT tire. So Ive ordered up a set of Pro Comp Xtreme AT's and a new set of 20" XD Bad Lands wheels.

Good choice. You'll be very happy! I've been riding the same tire for 16k miles and I love them.
