Default Laramie solid color no fender flares?

I am going to order a 2011 1500 Laramie, and wanted to go with black. I noticed on the printout that I got -$100 fender flare delete. I asked the dealer what that was about he said solid colors do not come with flares, and that I would have to go with the two tone to get them. White gold is the only trim color available to go with black for 2011 WTF?

So they won't/can"t put the flares on a solid colors, I think the flares look good on these trucks, and without them it looks like its missing something (imho) anyone know a way around this? I don't want the dealer to install or touch ANYTHING!

I going to order this thing tomarrow, the dealer is waiting for me to pick a color.

anyone know a way around this
There have been a few owners on this forum that have removed them. Maybe if you post under the "Want to Buy" section you will have some luck.

I think he wants them factory fitted , with factory matching black paint, which I agree would look good.

I also think it ain't going to happen. I'm pretty sure the plastic mouldings are all the same, no matter what color you pick.

If this is what you really want just work a deal with your dealer for them to be dealer installed. If they do not come pre-painted black you are in luck, dealers usually have body shops I had a set of Bushwackers painted @ the dealer for $120. I would just tell them to throw them in or your walk.

What part of CT? I got my truck from CT.

I was thinking about ordering the laramie and ran into this issue... your only way to work around it is to get the dealer to install them for you.

Currently, they are on hold again until 11/1/10. Same thing happened last year. Someone mentioned they were having trouble with the paint match but I think that is BS because the grille on the Sports is also color matched.

like I did. I ordered my Inferno Laramie since I'm not old enough to wear black socks/sandals and drive a two-tone truck(j/k). I received the -$100 credit and bought a set of TRX black grain OEM(same as stock) flares and had them smoothed, painted and installed(I installed them). They came out good I think, you can still see a tiny bit of grain texture on them but they're pretty smooth(FYI the stock Laramies have this grain in the flares as well).

Flares come in three colors from the factory: Laramie Tan(on all Laramie colors but silver), Laramie Silver, and TRX Grey. All other colors will come without flares.

Heres a pic of mine with flares installed. I also installed a factory OEM TRX grille in Inferno Red:

hpc3, thats a good looking truck! I hear ya on the yuppie sandals, I think i'm getting old.Hell i cant believe i am hung up on a color, the end must be near!

I have a problem leaving things stock, my 01 Ram 2500 CTD i just sold put 590hp 1240tq to the wheels, my Blown 66 Chevelle (its for sale)makes 1000hp on Cam2, and my 00 Hayabusa (also for sale) makes 220hp to the rear wheel.

My point is I don't want to have to touch this truck, my only stock vehicle, my hot rodding days are over, turn the key and go. If the factory can't do it then its not getting done. I just wish they would work with customers a little more, i'm not asking for a Viper motor, just a solid black truck with flares...so I don't have to go out and buy a pair of sandals!

For 2010, monotone flares were to be a new option. But due to some sort of parts issue, there were not that many built that way. They were not available, then they were, then not again. Not sure about the true story why. But they are showing a November availability for 2011 so who knows (don't hold your breath waiting). But they definitely built some monotone in 2010. There are pictures if you search.

Here is one of them that was built, a blue Laramie with the factory painted and installed monotone flares. There are others too if you look. There is a picture from in the factory of a black one also, can't find it at the moment though.
