Took the truck to the dealer today and they mentioned that I need to change my differential fluid (front, rear, transfer case) as well as my brake fluid. They quoted me a price 358.00 for the diffs and 140 for the brake fluid flush. How hard are these to change yourself and will it void a warranty if I do it myself?

You will need receipts to prove what you did. And like Oleksakjr said, don't screw it up or they can void the warranty but only on this that you directly affected with bad maintenance. Use the correct recommended fluids, etc.

^^^ Exactly, they arent hard to do yourself, but if its your first time, just take your time. Youd definitely save a bunch, and good luck

Why do you think you need the receipts? I've never had a dealer ask for recipts or records of maintenance in order to do warranty work.Originally Posted by USAF1

There is a growing trend by both dealers and service contract companies to require proof of scheduled services. Also, some states allow this practice and some do not.Originally Posted by Attono

Brake fluid change is not a required scheduled service item in my owners manual. Some people think its a good idea but I've never done it and never had contamination or corrosion issues.Originally Posted by mpullen32
