Lawsuits.... everybody is so dam quick to scream lawsuit`s
Good god people, dont we pay ENOUGH for insurance already...?????
Keep sueing everybody and nobody will be able to afford anything any longer.
Most lawsuits are really due to "ignorance of the operator"...!
Somebody wins, the rest of us LOOSE, because WE all, have to pay for it in the end result...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember transmission blankets. they were used to keep clutch parts from getting at your feet. Maybe Mopar will come out with one for the auto trannys now.
How about a Snuggie? Now from the makers of the origianl Snuggie, comes the new Ram Snuggie. Guaranteed to keep your Trans package warm all over....
Someone, maybe one of the guys that had the problem needs to get a GoPro camera and mount it under there and see what the heck is actually going on.....

My question is, has this happened to anyone else? Besides the two people that have posted on here? My dad has an 2010(trx 4)and he hasnt used his in snow yet(while I have used my old Dodge in snow! btw mudders and snow dont mix lol) and Im not looking forward to having that happen this winter. Wouldnt the 09s have the same problem? Just wondering..

The sales manager at the dealer I went to yesterday had the same problem when he arrived at work. They had his truck in the shop all day warming up.
I think everyone needs to notify Dodge with a complaint. I wish I had a hoist and some metal working tools, but I haven't been classified as a farm boy since I left ND.
I'm sure I could come up with something to protect the shift linkage.

I have a GoPro.
I will mount the thing under my 2010 Ram trx, weather is calling for a good dump of snow the weekend.
mind you we get dry snow up this way more than wet. but I will do it anyways.
We will see what is happening under there. and I will post the video here.

Huh, this is quite interesting! Last year I took my Ram Sport out many times during heavy dumpings of wet snow, and never had an issue. A couple of those times there was over 10" of wet snow down, plus I work nights (3rd shift) and no one plows at 10PM at night with the county highway dept.

The snow conditions when this happened were very much 'perfect snowman' consistency. Wet, heavy snow, warm ground making a very slush mix. The plows just rolled up big clumps as they went. I think this is the key to the packing in around the transmission.
I filed a report with the NHTSA and sent Dodge a similar description of the event via their web site's 'contact us' form. I see no reason to go to the dealer to let them know since they can't/won't do anything. I waste enough time waiting for their service dept.

So what changed between the 2009 and the 2010? Regarding dealer notification, it was a waste of my time, but without it Dodge will probably do nothing. At a minimum contact your dealer and report the problem everytime it happens.
I hate to say this because I really like everything else about the truck, but in MN we have a Lemon Law. I don't want it to go to that level. I also can't have my wife and kids stranded someplace because the truck won't start, or be shifted into reverse/park.
