Will the tailgate fit inside the back seat?

Guys,
I was afraid to leave it down because I figure the gate would get bounced and dent. I had a dentless guy pull a dent from a Shopping cart out of the tailgate and worried that the dent would return.

Its a truck - if you actually use it the tail gate is going to get beat up eventually

Far more likely to dent it by removing and reinstalling that heavy *** tailgate

Personally when I pick up the xmas tree I just put it in the bed and leave it hanging over the top of the closed tailgate. I prop much heavier things than that on the top of the gate and havn't damaged it yet.

Dont worry, it shouldn't dent. I've left mine down for long hauls and have had the weight of a sled on it for weeks at a time. It would take a pretty big bump to make that tailgate bounce even with 0 weight on it.

Yep. I take home lumber all the time and leave it down. Never dented.
However the POS tailgate cap is a whole 'nother story. Tap that with a Q Tip and your liable to break it off......

I put my 70 lb fishing kayak in my truck with the gate down, never have a problem and I drive down some crappy roads.
