Firestone air bags leaking...not sure why?
I think that I originally cut it with my side cutters and left a bit of a crimp in it. So far it is holding steady at 20psi.
I was going to suggest making sure the cut is square, also when you push the line into the fitting and its bottomed completely try popping the locking collar up with a flathead screwdriver just to seat the lock, then fill the bags right to 35psi to make sure the line locks in
I just put mine in a couple of months ago and at first I had the same problem. I went as far as to pull everything out and test it under water looking for leaks. I found none in either side so I made sure the ends were squared and not crimped, put everything back together and made sure to push well on the connection to the bag and viola, no leaks. They have been holding steady now for a couple of months and I tow a 7k lbs trailer about once a month.
Agree with cpelton - that's pretty much what I did. One more thing, I used soapy water to check for leaks at the bags and the air stem. Get some of that bubble stuff kids use and look for leaks
Mine have been on for a year and I love them. I used to use this air line a lot with paintball and can tell you that the fittings are just junk. I cut them by heating a razor blade up and melting through it or by using a heat knife. Just about any other way of cutting it pushes and deforms it some. Also, jam it in the fitting really hard and them pull on it to get the fitting to engage all the way.
Firestone tech rep never called me back.
I pulled out the air line tubing and it was obvious that it was not seating deep enough. (see orange lines in image below)
So I tapered the end of the tubing and reemed out the inside wall a bit. Pulled the locking collar out and cleaned the entire fitting with WD-40. Blow dried all the parts and coated them with axle grease.
Reinserted the collar, then the tubing, aired the bag up to 30 PSI, soaped the fitting and
THAT SUMBICH DON'T LEAK NO MO !!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE
I contacted the merchant that sold me the Firestone Coil-Rites. The service rep asked that I give him a couple days to get Firestone to respond to my complaint. They did not respond.
Here is the latest email from the merchant:
Good morning, I know they are busy but they need to be able to make a phone call to one of there customers. I tell you what, if they don't contact you by the end of the shipping day today I will just send you out a replacement kit from our warehouse and deal with them on the warranty end of things. Its 8:41 right now local time, if you do not here from them by 3:00 my time which is Mountain Standard Time than email me back and I will ship them from here. Sound good?
THE MERCHANT IS: SUSPENSION CONNECTION (dot) com and I thought I would give them a plug for their cooperation.
