Well I haven't taken it back to the dealer yet again for this issue, BUT I think I may understand it a little better. I think DwRam is on the right track with his assessment. Although the truck does not warm the seats or steering wheel in 5 minutes in the mornings, if you allow it to warm up for AT LEAST 10 minutes at a minimum, you can feel some warmth. It definitely isn't pumping the heat like when the key is in, but some heat nonetheless. If anybody else tries this experiment, let us know if you come up with the same results.

My steering wheel heats up in less than a minute on my 2011. The seats take a little longer but the drivers seat does come on high with remote. I do think they feel warmer after you sit in them and warm up the surface. I have issues occasionally if I start the Ram with the key and manually turn the heated wheel on. It will come on and go off in 5 seconds. If I shut off key and restart-will work fine.

My 2011 has the seats and wheel warm up with the remote start. Like others have said the wheel is almost instant and the seat takes a bit.
But I notice it as warm when I get in.
My Cherokee has heated seats but not automatic. Those seats are freezing when I get in. The temp here is about -20 so it is really nice to have the auto heat.

Another thought is to have a scanner hooked up before you start it and see what the cabin temp sensor is reading. And what the external temp sensor is reading.
I don't know how it is programed, but if those sensors are not acurate than it could be doing it on purpose. Otherwise I'd guess a reflash or faulty module.

i am having the exact same issue; lights are on when i get in but no heat (steering wheel or seats). it worked last winter.
i wonder if this happened when they did the RRT for the HVAC? has everyone that has this issue had the RRT performed?

Same here, worked fine last winter and now I get lights but nothing is heating up. Had the recall done a month ago.

Well I can't say anything about the remote start seat warmer since I live in Florida but I have noticed that after I had the RRT done I cannot disable the comfort control option in the EVIC settings. I uncheck it but the next time I remote start the truck it is rechecked and the A/C is on. This wouldn't matter in summer but when its 50~60 degrees and you get in your truck with the A/C running its not fun. I also noticed the ventilated seat was not on though, so I am now wondering if this part is not working correctly then either. If anyone else has had this problem please let me know and let me know if you have had it fixed and what they did. Seems like the techs at my dealership need a little help when it comes to fixing things.

I brought this to the attention of my service advisor a couple weeks ago when it was in for service. They told me they "believe" my aftermarket headlights must have caused a "code" keeping the seats from working properly. I asked what the "code" was and he said he'd have to get it from the tech who was at lunch at the time. I never bothered to call back because I know there's no code.

One more owner with the lights on, but no heat to either the seat or the steering wheel during remote start.

Default much better

I had my truck into the dealer for this issue and they found that the ambient temperature sensor was off by more than 10 degrees. The sensor is out front behind the grill. The heated seats and steering wheel only come on when it gets cold enough. The dealer changed my sensor out. The next cold snap I started the truck with the remote and waited 10 minutes or so. when I got in I saw immediately that the seat and steering wheel had warmed up. The steering wheel was as hot as normal, but the seat wasnt quite as hot as it usually is. It definitely had warmed up though. Maybe this is a software correction for remote starting. As far as I'm concerned mine is now working. This might work for some of you.

FWIW: I owned both a 300C with the standard HEMI AND an SRT8 300C both with remote start and the heated seats NEVER came on with the remote start because you have to manually turn them on every time anyways... Also, if you turned the SRT on and turned on the heated seats then it wouldn't actually heat up the seats until you sat in them. At that it only took about 1 minute to start feeling the heat and about 3 minutes for your *** to be on fire!

I didn't even realize that they put heated steering wheels in RAM's... Granted I got a basic work truck, but that is totally still badass!!!
