Default Heated Seats/Steering Wheel w/Remote Issue

Hey guys,

I've looked all over and can't find anything regarding the heated seats and comfort control issues when using the remote start. Its been around 26 degrees here in the morning and every time I use the remote start, the steering wheel and heated seat does not work. The lights DO come on but they do not warm up. Once I get in the truck and turn the key on, everything warms fine. I took it to the dealer and they are baffled. Anybody have the same issues? Its somewhat minor, but the purpose of having comfort settings is to be warm when you get in right?

I don't mean to ask a stupid question, but do you turn the heated seats / steering wheel ON before you park the car for the night? Or do they automatically cancel (turn off) when you turn the ignition off?

Lets rule this out first.....
How long are you waiting for the truck to warm up when using your remote start feature (minutes = ????????)
The seat heater module should be automatically activating somewhere close to 32/34 degrees w/remote start.
Are you turning on the "FAN" speed control at the heater controls before remote start...? (sometimes h/modules are programed diferently)

Your dealer is baffled because they are retarded, and cant diag s-h-i-t-t-t..!
The heat control module might not be programed to come on w/remote start feature, check that first, if programed properly, seat heater should activate in remote start mode, if it does not, check connections, check programming, if ok, replace the module.

Tell your retarded dealer they should learn how to use the shop manuel,
ther is an electrical section in there that tells how to troubleshoot this problem step by step

Thanks for everyone's help so far.. I am waiting about 8-10 minutes before I head out to the truck. Of course its still blowing fairly cool air as well but figured the steering wheel portion would at least still heat. So not to be a total dumb a$$, how long should I be waiting? I figured 8 -10 minutes is a decent amount of time. I don't expect a fully toasted 74 degree cabin, but the seat should be warm and the steering wheel right or are my expectations to high? I leave everything on AUTO. I don't mess with the manual settings, so the cabin adjusts to the temps I have set. i want to say everything worked fine last year during the winter, but having issues now. Thanks again for everyone's input, I appreciate it!

settings (when exiting vehicle) should not matter. the seats take about 3 - 5 minutes to warm up in my truck but the steering wheel is almost immediate (< 1 min).

I am going to watch this thread, my 09 CC is doing this exact same thing. I was going to wait for its next service before I brought it in. The symptoms are the same, the lights for the heated seats and steering wheel come on but they dont heat up. Worked fine last winter. Keep us posted.

Is there a setting in your EVIC somewhere?

Yes, that is where you either turn it on or off. There are no other options besides that though.

I have the settings correct in the EVIC but nothing comes on, lights up, ETC..... The only time the seat and wheel heats up is when I turn them on manually.
