Go to your local dealership and ask them to put you on the wait list for the OEM remote start. Doesnt void your warrenty, works great and you get two extra spare keys! Had mine ordered and installed for 390 total that includeds the starter it's self and 1.1 hours of install time it takes. Dont let them try to charge you more for it as the book time on the install is 1.1 hours. I said above to tell them to put you on the wait list now, as there is national vendor backorder for the starter. So if you can call around to local dealerships and find out if anyone has one, I would do that asap.

It's not worth saving a hundred bucks to go aftermarket - your warrantee is worth much more than that ----- go OEM.

Just had one installed by ziebart works perfect. Lifetime warranty. $250. Installed and does not void factory warranty. Stearlership try charging me $410.00. Before factory installed starters they used to send your vehicle of to ziebart or some local shop.

Is Ziebart going to step to the plate, for an electrical problem if Chrysler denies warranty coverage because of non OEM equipment spliced into their factory wiring?????

I have it in writing if there's an electrical problem I have to give ziebart a chance to fix it if they can't they will pay for all repairs. Don't believe me call them. I see on the forum where people with factory remote starters are having problems with key fob not working. Dodge has no answer for them I do ,there the cheapest they can find so u get interference. I recommend if getting it done go to a shop that will stand behind there work in writing. I have lifetime warranty, factory gives you 3yr/36,000. I also get lifetime free remote replacement and free battery replacement.

Gooooooo with OEM OEM OEM OEM...!!!!!!!!!!!
IT`S NOT WORTH LOOSING YOUR WARRANTY when you cheap out for the aftermarket stealers products.

Trust me, i lost 3 vehicle warranty`s over aftermarket products in the past...!!!!!!!!
The people that say you wont, are dreaming, they`ve been lucky enough not to have had a problem yet
...BUT when they do, i hope they re-think aftermarket SHIIT after that. Took me 3 times and learned the hard way.

Is this thread a joke? Cheap out with aftermarket...hahahahaha BRAVO

So Mopar invented remote start systems and is the bar that all others fall under?

Any good aftermarket system actually costs more than the OEM one and i have never heard of someone having warranty issues from an alarm. I owned a Car Audio/ Accessory shop for 5 years without a single issue coming from aftermarket alarms. Stick with DEI and have it installed my an authorized dealer. While they are installing the alarm, look up all the issues people are having with their stock remotes. Then be glad you dont have to worry about it.

"they`ve been lucky enough not to have had a problem yet"
or smart enough not to buy junk?

I`ve worked in dealerships over 30+yrs, and you`ve only owned your shop for 5yrs...? Do youuuuu really wanna go down that road with me...????
Actually, i really like aftermarket shiit, i make a ton of money fixing all the fugged up vehicles after you hackers fugged them up...!!!!!!

And firther more, this thread was specifically about REMOTE START, not ALARMS
Now go take your meds and chill out
