Default Steering wheel off center!

Hey ppl!
This is my first post and I joined to see if anyone has the same issue as Me!
I bought a 2010 dodge ram 1500 trx4 in june and stright from the lot the steering wheel has been cocked to the left slightly. It didnt pull, but if I strightened the wheel to where it should be it would go right. It really seems like its the "comfortable spot" for the wheel. How is that even possible?? The splines in the gear should be tight fitting? lol

Im going on my fourth alignment and with every one it gets worse and worse! Now she pulls so bad to the left, like over the crowns of the roads! Let go of the wheel and it goes back to its "comfortable spot" but hauls left (HARD). Its gotten to the point I dont even feel safe driving it. Your so focused on correcting the direction of the truck. ITS A BRAND NEW TRUCK! This shouldn't be! Its going back into the shop on the 10th but I really need to gather information to "build a case" in a sense so I dont seem like Im loosing my mind?

Thank for your help!

I started to notice mine was just a little off, thought it was just me but i drove anoter one a few days ago i got as a rental for work and it was the same way, not much just enough that i notice it. Mine doesn't pull or anything like your talking but I'm only at 5000 miles, does seem odd though for being so new

Ive been searching the net and I found two people so far with the exact same problem. One even has the same truck! They were told its "normal" by the dealer. Im not going to live with that answer.
Im really starting to wonder if my truck fell? The hood isn't true with the fender and the bumper isn't true either... I pointed it out to my dealer and he said that if they started to fix that issue then they might raise the other side and it could never be "true". Im really going to become a thorn in there butt thats for sure!

I've had two 2010's, the first was bought back, and the steering wheel was/is off to the left in both. The first one was bad enough that I took it to the dealer and had them realign it. When I got it back it was off to the right I don't think I'm going to bother taking my new truck in since it's not too bad. I hope they get it fixed for you.

There used to be a problem with one front tire leading the other back in the 90's which would cause a vehicle to drift away from the leading tire. The solution was to swap front tires.

My truck drifts to the left regardless of road crown and I'm going to have my tires rotated front to back and then left to right. If that doesn't solve it then off for an alignment.

Steering wheel off center is usually a slight toe adjustment, should not be a big deal..BUT a belt in a tire can cause this also.If it is a tire while truck is on the alignment plates tech can center the wheel by slighly adjusting the toe.BUT when truck moves off the siding plates to a hard/fixed service the wheel will **** again due to a belt in a tire.

I had the same problem. The truck was going staright but the wheel was to the left. Yesterday I got a 4 wheel allignemnt and...wow what adifference. It drives straight and true and and my steering is tighgter then when it was new. So far I'm happy. Btw, it cost me $101.00 with taxes for the 4 wheel allignment.

Also, my friends new "10 Ram sport has the same problem.....

Thanks everyone for your great feed back. Glad to know Im not loosing my mind. Still disappointed that a new truck would be doing this. I have brand new tires on and don't notice any unusual wear. Lets hope my dealer will get this all resolved.
Happy New Years!

Steering wheel off center dosen't necessarily mean bad tire wear or even that alignment specs are out.
