Default 2011 owners!!!!!!!!

i stopped by a dealer ship today that my friend works at to ask question about the ram, i had posted here a while ago about a soft thunk coming from the back end when stopping..
she had recalled seeing some thing that dodge put out as an R.R.T. (rapid response transmission) (IIRC).....

any ways according to my sources.. there was a three hour window in which the factory was either putting not enough, or the wrong fluid in the rear diff. needless to say she has seen two trucks come through with cratered diffs... cause of this. from what shes heard these trucks dont make it past 5000km i encourge all to have this looked at. my ttruck was one of them. a quick search by vin told us the story.
i dont know if it is north of the border only, or both sides but take a look anyways..

They issued a recall for this today. Only applies to 11.

They also recalled some 08-11 trucks for a steering issue. It was not a large number of trucks, which seems odd to span 3 years and have a small total number. Must be a unique type of setup.

the article states the recall is expected to begin in February that might be why it was only posted as the RRT when i went in.... or my truck was enough to tip the scales lmao

I bet it's no you rear end, I have the same problem with my 2011 sport with the 32 gal gas tank. I get a thud that sound like it's coming from the rear end what it is when you have 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank the gas slams the front of the tank when you stop making it seem like it's your rear end since they removed the baffle in the tank to make it bigger. I would fill up and run the tank all the way down and see if the problem happen threw out the whole tank of fuel. the 32 gal tank is a 26 with no baffle

I got the same recall for low fluid in the rear end, as well I do hear the thump when around 3/4 tank of fuel. These are two separate issues. I had my truck in for the recall and they topped up my rear diff, but still hear the thump which is the fuel hitting the front of the tank when you come to a stop.

That recall is only for 4500 and 5500 trucks, hence the low number over multiple years.

22,274 2008-2011 Dodge and Ram 4500 and 5500-series trucks are being recalled to address a problem with the a component of the left outer tie rod that could crack or weaken and cause a loss of steering. Dealers will replace the entire left outer tie rod.
