There are various opinions on the best speaker brands. You'll hear everything across the spectrum of price ranges. If you've got a brand that you prefer, Crutchfield.com will tell you the speaker sizes you need for almost every speaker size in the Alpine system. I was in the process of replacing all the speakers in mine before getting sidetracked. The only ones I couldn't find an aftermarket upgrade for are the two in the headliner. Those are an odd size/depth that no one seems to manufacture. I tend to be a Sony fan, so when I get home I plan on swapping out all of the speakers and then installing a amp and dual subs under the rear seat.

Depends on how much you want to spend.

There are some depth issues in the front doors so keep an eye on that. Might want to look at a 5-6.5" round speaker vs the 6x9's that are in there. I would think all of those would fit with the adapter plate.

Also, if you just change the door speakers you may not get the desired result. The alpine system has the mids in the door but the tweets up in the dash - some 3.5" thing anyway. So if you just change the door speakers you may not get any better sound. Put your ear up against the door speaker when it's playing, if I recall it was kinda a bland hum.

Personally, I tried doing it piece by piece, then adapters so I could keep the factory head unit and just go so pissed I took all the factory stuff out and started from scratch. New wiring, everything. Again, gets back to how much you want to spend.

There are sub boxes you can get that fit under the rear seat nicely without needing to lift it - ebay about $100.

I used Boston Acoustics 6x9's in my rear doors, they would fit fine in the fronts as well. I used components in the front, but I was doing a complete system at the time. Boston has several different models, any would fit fine. Just a suggestion, I'm sure there are others that would fit as well, I just know the Bostons do.

I replaced all of mine with infinity Kappas, all doors, dash and headliner, Jl makes a nice loaded sub enclosure that would replace the stock sub, but I made my own enclosure. I also replaced the head ubit with a Pioneer Avic 120bt. I actually redid my entire system from the ground up. I am super happy with results.

Exactly! See Ram11..give us about $4000 to work with and we can come up with something nice.

Did the same head unit, pair of 10" JL subs, Focal components in the doors, pair of JL amps behind the back seat - 300/4 & 500/1, all new wiring everywhere.

I used the SC69's, but the SR69's would fit just as well. Don't be fooled by the small magnet, they are neodymium. They sound really nice and bolted right in if you want. I put some dynamat behind all mine, but then again I too was completely replacing the system. I have a thread on here about the sub box, but I'll make a new thread as soon as I get the little things finished.

I went with Boston Acoustics speakers, 3 1/2 in the dash and 6 1/2 in the 4 doors... I also added a JL Audio 175 watt RMS monoblock amp with a matching JL Audio 10" sub... What an inprovement over the stock setup... I did not have the upgraded system in my 2010 TRX4. Originally I was going to swap out the head unit... No need now. Boston Acoustics are great speakers. I order all from www.sonicelectronix.com at about 40% lower then Crutchfield. It cost less then $600 for all plus my time.
