The Magnaflow part # 16870 system is a Dual Outlet Muffler, 3/2.5in System, Dual 3.5in. Polished Tips, DUAL SPLIT REAR EXIT. So there is no need to replace the bumper. But I would like to have the tips exit the sides after the tires. I don't know if it's possible and since you brought it up, I'm wondering if the shop could bend the pipes and if it would change the exhaust (noise, metal strength, warranty..)

That's good to hear about the MDS. I think that would drive me nuts for the amount of highway driving I do. As mentioned in the last post, I only need the 3.5" tips as my truck doesn't have the bumper cutouts. But I'm sure the 5" ones looks sweet on your ride. If you have any video of it, that would be great. Thanks.

I speak as a authorized magnaflow dealer...

Any type of modification to the system WILL void the warranty, you wont really change the sound of the exhaust if you decided to do so, sound is based on the I.D. of the pipe used, the muffler and the resonator if applicable. It will NOT weaken the metal unless your trying to bend it where its already been bent, and will take a big mandrel bender to do.

To the person who said use your stock pipe and just get a magnaflow muffler, this is a great economy way, but if you can afford the cat back get it, not only do you get nicer piping it will last WAY longer then any piece of OEM aluminized piping, not to mention every millimeter of a magnaflow kit is covered by a lifetime warranty.

Thanks for the quick reply.. I like the look of the side exit dual exhausts, but it's not a big factor in purchasing a system. As mentioned previously, the cabin drone is a big factor. What is the feedback from your customers regarding this and does MagnaFlow make a side exit dual system for the 4th gens? I didn't see anything on their website.

There website is there testbed for new products so if you dont see it listed there they dont make it and have no current intentions to, its kinda crappy. The closest thing they have is SAME side dual exit, but not both sides (Part #16868). As for drone well all my cars have magnaflow systems, even my race car and I never get sick of it, and in the whole time I have ever been selling them I had one person return one and it wasnt because of drone, they claimed it was TOO LOUD, when I got the kit back it looked like it was on the truck for about 5-6 years as the stainless piping was totally discolored from time and heat, stainless doesnt lie about its age! My personal beliefe is that he sold the truck with a stock exhaust on it and got the money back for the catback, we have this problem a crap load with programmers, its funny because it locks the VIN into the programmer so when they return it we can get there VIN and find out who it is, caught a guy who stole one from one of our stores this way it was REAL funny.
