If it is your build date you're looking for, it's on your driver side door jam (in case you don't know)

Has this issue been completely resolved for manufacture dates after December or are they considering the overfill a fix? I am ready to upgrade and the local dealer has a couple of Laramies I like but I want to be sure to get the correct bearings and know that I don't have to worry about a lube shop getting the wrong lubricant level in the rear end down the line. I've been working with geared industrial machinery for 39 years so this is an item of concern for me, I buy good stuff and keep it for a long time.

The recall just came out this week, it is k36. It has a new rear cover (with the hole little higher than the 2010 ) and a restrictor that gets tapped into place in the pinion drainback hole.

Just checked my VIN on the Dodge Canada website. No recalls for my truck, build date Feb 2011.

Amazing. How long have we been building low-tech differentials now, maybe 75 years, and millions of them all over the world. How do you go and screw up proven manufacturing and technology?

Default Desperatly Looking For Diff Locks

2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 front (205mm HD) and rear (235mm) differentials are the source of my permanent headache...
There is not a single brand in the whole world that provides diff locks for any of them!!!
How can this be possible, I simply couldn't find a convincing answer yet...
