Really, I wonder if Lawyers or Business people have a drink or two at lunch, hmmm I have had a drink with a lawyer in his office before. I wonder if some people got found guilty that day?
Go to any factory parking lot at lunch time or a local liquour or beer store at lunch time LOL so a few got caught. I think the ones on Friday night that have a buzz on of some type do better jobs because they are too afraid of getting caught....if you screw up more than a few times in an hour you will get a visit from a Supervisor so you think these guys want the heat...think about it. Rear end fill is an automatic thing....something went wrong with where the hole was like mentioned. It should be redrilled and tapped up higher if possible and the old one welded closed and addendum put in each user guide.. ya people don't even read the owners manual, they just drive and ask other people questions, it's easier hell I am guilty. I have friends that call me to ask someone phone number....what am I the operator?

(even if it meens you have to buy it) Why wait until they call you in for the re-lube fill, you are already doing damage to the rearend as we speak due to low level of gear lube.

If anyone is going to buy a 2011 truck from a dealer, pull the vin and have it checked for the repair/update.
Tell them you want a copy of that report with the truck if you buy it off their lot.
It doesnt look like the 2010 rear cover will fix the problem. I eyeballed a 2010 and a 2011 on the lot and it looks like they both put the fluid at the same level.
p.s. the 4th failed one just rolled into the shop this week at 3k miles and the rear end is now on backorder (according to our parts guy)

NO- it includes all 2011 rear ends! Mine doesn't have posi, and they had to add to mine.

In my opinion, this is not a reasonable fix! As mentioned before, some schmuck is gonna "relevel?" the gear oil, without knowing!

It really should be fixed RIGHT!

(2010 rear cover vs 2011 plug in case)
I could be wrong, wont know till we measure it.
I looked at them both too, close in equal height, but the 2010 cover lube access hole still looks higher to me.
Have the guys in your shop measure both, and see what you come up with, i`ll do the same an see what i come up with.

And the 4th one just rolled into your shop....
i sure hope the new rear diff`s are coming with USA made bearings and NOT the cheap soft chinese bearings, or the same issues will continue

Way to go DODGE...!!!! (or should i be sayin RAM = Really A Mistake)
I hope you dumb azz`s engineers are reading about all your mistakes on these forums.
Your unions wont keep you in a job much longer when you cant sell anymore POS products
Maybe you shoulda`been building 100% AMERICAN made trucks to start with, with AMERICAN parts..!!!

Definatly my last dodge/chrysler product for sure...! (Ford or Chevy next time around)
I wont support/buy anything unless its built here in the good ole USA from now on...!

Yeah i hear ya brother, it IS, getting harder everyday to buy only USA made products.
We can only blame the american people to allow it to continue by buying imported products.
If everyone stopped buying anything imported, that would hurt their sales in a bad way.

Here`s the fix...!!!!!
If you cant build it here, you cant sell it here...!!!!!!!!!!!!
Box all the imported garbage up, label it "too small" and ship it back.
That would open up ALOTTA jobs for everyone here in the USA...!!!!
Export only, they need to start buying OUR products for a change instead of us buying theirs.

Canada dosen`t count, they have good stuff comin to us....DODGE CHALLENGER`s & CHARGER`s..!!!!!!!!

Anyhow, sorry i got off topic here....carry on

The assembly plant doesn't drill the fill holes in the diff, the axle manufacturer does.

Yeah I know... all they do is get stoned at the assembly plants...I'm just teasing, lol! But what's that got to do with my comment about Chrysler waiting for the media reports to die down before notifying the public? Anyways, I was just stirring the pot (stirring the pot...get it, lol)...in other words flaming the thread and having a little fun but thanks for the info

Default Rear end fill

We have 3 new 2011 1500's at work. 1, ST, 1 big horn, 1 Laramie. Faxed the serial numbers over to my dealer-one built October, one November, one December. Dealer called back and said none of them needed rear end oil recall done? So were these all real early build units that qualified?
