2011 3500 Option Questions
So I just ordered my new 11' 3500 Laramie Dually but there seems to be some discrepencies between the Brochure, website and what the dealer and Dodge says!
1) Aluminum Dually Wheels; (very important!) The website and brochure say that they are a no-cost option but the dealer had no option to order them! I called Dodge and they "think" that they are now standard on the Laramie and the dealer "assumes" that they are as well but I have never seen these wheels on ANY new truck! (in fact, I have only seen a picture of them!)
2) Power Folding Towing Mirrors; Same thing...
Anyone have any ideas? The dealer is checking on this with their Area Rep but no word yet.
Thanks in advance..

What about the "required" 730media center, that adds $800 to the sticker???? That one pissed me off. Can't help you on the wheels question, but there are a few Laramie duallies in town and all of them have a polished look aluminum wheel on them. There are also pricing discrepancies between the Ram website build page and the dealer.
I would assume that any dually would come with the towing mirrors.

I think it also has more inputs to add cameras etc. It sounded like a much better unit so I opted for it.
I was able to trade my 05 3500 Quad Cab Big Horn Dually with 101,000 in on a 2011 Crew Cab Laramie Dually, with every option less the sunroof, on/off road tires and rear media center ($1650.00? are they on crack?) with a balance of $32,000 I just have to wait 8 weeks.

From the brochure;
Power folding multifuction trailer tow, heated, chrome, includes position memory, exterior courtesy lamps and supplemental turn signal (GP2)
This is shown as an option for the 3500 Laramie but the dealer had no way of selecting this option.
I am after the Power FOLDING Mirrors where you can fold the mirrors in with the push of a button.

Out of curiosity, why would you want mirrors that fold in by themselves on a dually? Can't park close enough to anything for it to matter.

I had to do some research on the 730 Media Center too as the Dealer, Website and Brochure had zero information on why it is $400 more than the 430 Media Center. From what I was told by my stereo guy is that the 730 Media Center uses Harmon Navigation instead of Garmin Nav and has "Dead Reckoning" that will simulate your position in the event of lost signal whereas the 430 I hear will freeze the screen. You can also control the Ipod through the controls on both the screen and the steering wheel whereas the 430 you can only control the Ipod through the Ipod itself.

Hopefully, I'll get the Power Folding Mirrors and Aluminum Wheels.

I concur about the mirror option as well. They are not power folding, the are fold-away and power adjust with signals and heated element. My build sheet allowed for "no-charge" Chrome T-tow power, heat, signal, fold away mirrors. And they are pretty nice looking.
You are misunderstanding what that means. There is no option for mirrors that fold in by themselves with a button, they are all Power mirrors that fold manually.

They have two optional mirrors in the brochure;
Standard on the Laramie is;
"Power multifunction trailer tow, heated, manual folding, chrome, includes position memory, exterior courtesy lamps and supplemental turn signals (GPC)
Optional for the Laramie is;
Power folding multifuction trailer tow, heated, chrome, includes position memory, exterior courtesy lamps and supplemental turn signals (GP2)
Unless things changed between 2010 and 2011 that is some incorrect info. The 430 doesn't have NAV at all, which is why the 730 is much more expensive. And you can control your iPod (next song, etc) via the steering wheel controls on the 430 (at least on the newer RBZ version).

So if you can control you Ipod through the steering wheel on your 430 then what the hell am I really getting for the extra $400 in the 730N?
