Default Wheel bearing problems?

Anybody have any issues with their front wheel bearings? I have a 2009 Ram 1500 Laramie. I had an ABS code for the left front sensor and a grinding noise in the front end that got louder when turning. Turns out that the bearing was bad and no longer under warranty because the truck has 48k miles. I replaced the hub, bearing and abs sensor, which fixed the problem with the abs, however the noise is still there. Dropped the truck off at the dealer and they tell me that both front wheel bearings are bad, including the one that is only a week old. I've opened a case # with Chrysler and am waiting to here back from them. Just wondering if anyone else has had any similar issues.

Sorry to hear about your problems. My '07 had the from wheel bearings go bad right around 50k, so it sounds like your problem isn't unique. Unfortunately, not cheap.

Oh damn. I find it a little fishy that you're week old wheel bearing is bad, sounds like a classic case of a stealership to me. Hopefully you get some good news about the case.

D'ya think the neg. 12mm offset on those aftermarket wheels might have something to do with the bearing failure?

Wheels, tires and suspension are all original. Best part is they diagnosed it as wheel bearings on both sides just by having 3 different people joyride my truck around. When I told them I don't think its the bearings and asked if they put it on a lift to check it they said no. Dodge service is a f*ckin joke!

Oops, read the wrong poster's signature line.

Is your Ram a 4wd?

Have you had the CV joints checked?

That's what I'm thinking it is. That would be covered under warranty, maybe that's why they haven't checked them. Would a cv joint make a grinding noise in a 30 mph turn? I haven't heard any clicking noises the you would normally here from a bad cv joint.

I don't know. I was only guessing. Hopefully someone with more 4wd experience on this forum will chime in.
